My favorite putter ever was a Never Compromise Voodoo putter that I won in a charity tournament raffle. $35.00 retail.
I could actually putt with it.
My son talked me into getting a new putter and letting him have the Voodoo putter.
I got this nice Ping putter…back to can’t putt worth a damn…😂

The putter told you not to compromise…

I dunno man, we've found ways to lose to some PRETTY AVERAGE to TERRIBLE Florida teams.

2007 they embarrassed us even though we won the division.
2010 they were not good and beat us.
2011 they were not good and beat us.
2012 we were supposed to show them what was up at home and they came in and beat us.
2013 they were god awful and beat us
2014 they were terrible and beat us at home in a game that seemingly neither team wanted to win.
2015 Butch found a way to lose.
2016 Butch was busy finding a way to lose until his players had enough and won it on their own (thank you to Dobbs, Jennings, Hurd)
2017 Butch found a way to lose, and they were god awful.
2018 and 2019 they spanked us.
2020 we finally got to play them late in the season, like we've always wanted, and they beat us.
2021 they were TERRIBLE and smoked us.

but sure, beating Florida is no big deal.
Lol this is depressing 😂

To me the biggest stat you gotta have as a QB at UT to cement yourself here as top 10 or better is Wins & Losses.

Peyton Manning: 39-6
Casey Clausen: 34-10
Andy Kelly: 24-5-2
Tee Martin: 22-3
Josh Dobbs: 23-12
Heath Shuler: 19-5
Hendon Hooker: 6-5

I don't know how many he'll win this season, but if he wants to really be talked about as a UT great he needs to finish his career with 15 or more wins I think.
I like it, but tbf didn't Guarantano have more than 15 wins?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t football a team sport?

15 wins (according to his suggestion) would be a condition on being a great quarterback, but would not entail it. Consider: all lions [great Vols QBs] breathe air [have 15 or more wins]. But this cuckoo bird breathes air. Therefore this cuckoo is a lion.

I'm not saying 15 wins = UT legend. I'm saying for Hooker as a 2 year starter that should be kind of the floor.

JG was 13-20 as well for what it's worth.
Gotcha. I mistook what you were saying as 15 was the cutoff - not that that should be a baseline for Hooker specifically. I guess win percentage and quality wins definitely factor into legend status.

Like if Hooker only gets to 13 or 14 but leads the Vols past Bama or Florida and Georgia or something - after only 2 years here and the way his career has gone that would be something.

Regardless, if he has another solid season and it sets the stage for recruiting and stability and the uphill climb I'll be forever grateful for Hooker. To come here under Pruitt, stay committed after he was fired, stick with the team after Milton got the start, then seize his opportunity is special.

But don't succumb to a logical fallacy. 15 wins would be a condition on being a great quarterback, but would not entail it. Consider: all lions [great Vols QBs] breathe air [have 15 or more wins]. But this cuckoo bird breathes air. Therefore this cuckoo is a lion.
Just addressed this, I misinterpreted Moco's take on 15 wins. I thought he was saying 15 is the cutoff for everyone, not specifically Hooker.

I mean it's one reason why Tee Martin in a top 5 isn't something I really argue with. He has a SEC title, National title, and he went 22-3 as a starter here in his 2 years. But if you look at his actual stats he wasn't nearly as impressive. It all factors in of course, not one stat alone defines a QB.

But if Hendo wins 10 this season and leaves 16-8 or something like that with another killer year stats wise then he'll for sure be worthy of the debate for a top 10 QB at UT.
