True, personal choices. If used correctly like anything else most will be just fine. One other interesting thing about testosterone is that 90 percent of men while taking it are sterile. It is basically male birth control for 9 out of 10 men while on cycle.

Recruiting wars –

When Fulmer was the AD one of his presentations to the board was streamed and in the presentation he talked about recruiting. He said the previous year (2019) we had gotten 5 recruits that everyone else wanted but this year we needed to get twice that many.

I think a good way to identify the players that everyone wants are those players that have a composite rating of 95 or above. I’ve noted this a few years back. I don’t really see the difference between an 88 or 89 or 90 or whatever because by that point the services are trying to rank a kid somewhere between 300 and 400 or so. They’re not that good. Nobody would be but they do better with the top 100. That’s easier. Even then only about 50-60% of those guys pan out. For lower rated guys the percent of guys who pan out goes down pretty fast.

Anyway, in the table provided it can be seen where Georgia took a leap forward in recruiting. From 2018 on they’ve been able to keep pace with Alabama, who up until that point had no real competition in the conference.

Almost 50% of the top 100 players (or whatever the number is in a given year) end up signing with an SEC school. Texas A&M signed 20 last year. Nobody has ever done that before so obviously a bit of caterwauling is to be expected.

It appears that we may be on track to sign maybe around 8-10 or more of the top 100 guys this year. I’m hoping we do because all this nonsense about us being in the bottom half of the conference needs to be rebuffed. jmo.

I’ve said before I think it’s the players that make the coaches and not the other way around. I don’t for one minute believe Saban would have been anywhere near as successful as he’s been had he not had an overwhelming talent advantage. I think that’s also why Kirby has moved to the head of the line. jmo.

If Heupel can compete with the top recruiters in the conference and win our share of these elite guys year in and year out then I have no doubt he will have a lot of success on the field against the top half of the conference and he will have done something that our recent hires were unable to do, at least not on a consistent basis. jmo.

If we don’t get our share of these guys then our opponents will and we’ll be playing against them just like we’ve been doing for the past 15 years. For everyone of these guys Heupel gets it’s likely one less available to the Alabamas, Georgias, Floridas, and the LSUs of the conference. I don’t really care how this season goes in as much as the most important thing we need to do right now imo is to keep the positivity and momentum going as Heupel and Co. continue working to build an elite roster. jmo.

There’s an ancient power rising in the east. We are that power. We need to hold this course for at least the next 3 to 4 years if we are to return to our rightful place as the rulers of the SEC. jmo.

The simple formula for that to happen is ((Heupel & Staff) + (Spyre & VolNation)). jmo.

This table shows where the top 100 recruits signed in the SEC since 2014. 2023 is the current commitments of top 100 recruits within the conference.

I don’t want to defend Nick Saban and he wouldn’t have been as dominate without his level of recruiting…. That being said…. His second year at Bama which started them on their road to greatness….. he only had 4 top 100 starters…. 4 2* starters 11 3* starters…. 5 other 4* starters….. The man can coach some football….. we need Heup to be able to do both.

That is weird, and seems counterintuitive..why does that happen?

They over signed the year prior to his second year took like 30 something athletes and actually had a decent senior group returning that helped the transition

Avascular Necrosis

The doc im recollecting was on ESPN. Guy was a former pro athlete who now speaks out against anabolic steroids. He is paralyzed and amputated above the knee.
Thanks…. I have never used nor plan too…. I do have several friends that I know that has taken without much complications but I have heard the horror stories.

Still….. he started four walk on level players and most of his lineup was 3 stars…. Not many coaches could have done the same.

They had some really good OL and DL on that team when he got there...ratings be damned. That is why he was able to add a few great skill pieces and take off from there. You don't build a great OL and DL overnight, if had to do that, then he would have had a much harder time getting started.

He can thank his predecessor for that, but I will give him credit for coaching them up.

He had. 5*, 4*, 2 3.*, and a 2*….. on defensive line…. He had 2 3*, top 100 4*, and added 3* Terence Cody…. These guys weren’t considered great before he got there.

Those rating were 🦬💩...he inherited some really good players in the trenches and added a couple...and that is why they took off.

I’ve been taking regulated test for a couple of years. My natural levels dropped so low the Dr had never seen results that low. Turns out, it’s hereditary in my case. Several family members from my mothers side suffer the same.
I do quarterly blood work, only take 100 mg a week, which is half of what my dose is suppose to be. I feel fantastic, test levels remain around 750-800. Alrwady got the snip 10 years ago, so that wasn’t an issue. Have had zero side effects other than initially when trying to get my dosage right for me, and only side effects I had then was being a bit “edgy” when my levels were around 1500+.

Saban is the best coach in the modern era. You can try to explain away his success however you want but it’s still true. UGA has had equal talent to Alabama but Smart is only 1-4 against Saban for a reason. Recruits are a major factor to any success but combine that with the best coaching and best development and you get a dynasty.

With testosterone increases won’t you also increase DHT? DHT can cause male pattern baldness if you’re sensitive enough.

Back in the 60"s they were called party Albums then tapes. Redd Foxx, Buddy Hackett, Moms Maybelle and several more . People would by the albums and play them on the stereo when they were having a big party. Richard Pryor and George Carlin for example were regulars on the TV variety show scene. Lenny Bruce was cutting edge at the time and with "The Midnight Special " and SNL they all started showing more of their club routines on later at night, still not bad but edgy for TV. Then Cheech and Chong as well as Pryor got in the moves and with cable it was Katie bar the door then.
Thanks for all this. I was hoping you'd bring up Bruce.

That’s like claiming Heup inherited talent and it wasn’t bc of his coaching…. The year before Saban got there Alabama average 3.5 ypc and allowed 4.0 ypc….. his first year… he avg 4.0 ypc while allowing 3.4 ypc….. in year two it was up to 4.5 ypc while allowing 2.7…. The man is great at developing the trenches…. Just like Heup is great at taking offensive talent and putting them in position to succeed.

I finished Frasier with my wife 1-2 months ago and just the other day read a brief biography of Kelsey Grammar's wild and tragic life. Absolutely insane what that man has done and been through... and then was still able to accomplish professionally. Would love to read a full biography.
Ooh! We are only a couple episodes from finishing it for the 2nd time. Loooove that show.

Where did you read about him? All I've heard about is all the coke and alcohol and how he'd be a completely different person on set because of all the substances...but as soon as the director called action he'd snap perfectly into character every time. Pretty wild...and amazing.

I'm still (sort of) hoping the remake still happens...though it sure wouldn't be the same without Marty. He's my favorite character.

In 1968, his father was murdered in a home invasion. In 1975, his sister was kidnapped, raped, and murdered in Colorado Springs. In 1980, his two teenage half-brothers died in a scuba diving accident....

Poor guy kinda jaw dropping all that he went thru to endure and still come out with a successful career. You have to respect that will to not give up or give in.
