People should believe the hype. It needs to be enjoyed in a high quality movie theater and not just at home.
Going Friday. Watched the original the other day. The flight scenes were great...the rest pretty cringey, but I guess that's sort of typical for 80s daftness. I'm sure it was seen in a better light back then. The sand volleyball, music, and romance scenes straight out of the movie Ghost 🤢🤮

But the flying saved it for sure. The new one has way better reviews, so I'm believing the hype as a well-rounded movie this go around. And yeah...not a movie to be seen at home.

About to activate our 3 month AMC unlimited passes...so there will be a lot of movie watching this Summer. I just saw they have a new Jurassic Park with some of the original characters and not Chriss Pratt...looks intriguing as well.

I’ve been taking regulated test for a couple of years. My natural levels dropped so low the Dr had never seen results that low. Turns out, it’s hereditary in my case. Several family members from my mothers side suffer the same.
I do quarterly blood work, only take 100 mg a week, which is half of what my dose is suppose to be. I feel fantastic, test levels remain around 750-800. Alrwady got the snip 10 years ago, so that wasn’t an issue. Have had zero side effects other than initially when trying to get my dosage right for me, and only side effects I had then was being a bit “edgy” when my levels were around 1500+.
same for me

In 1968, his father was murdered in a home invasion. In 1975, his sister was kidnapped, raped, and murdered in Colorado Springs. In 1980, his two teenage half-brothers died in a scuba diving accident....

Poor guy kinda jaw dropping all that he went thru to endure and still come out with a successful career. You have to respect that will to not give up or give in.
Wow. Well that explains the drugs and alcohol. Unimaginably bad luck for one person.

And yeah...how you could still go on to be successful after all that is bewildering.

Perspective.

We have examples staring us in the face of how to return to national relevance in football. We also have one showing us how to become the #1 and possibly the GOAT depending on the finish. Both won the SEC tournament after decades of having not done so. The premier conference in America. Focus on that for a moment.

Each head coach started with a mess on his hands. Each charted a course using good character, commitment to process, strong development.

The older head coach came after being fired by idgits. Nobody ever denied he knew basketball, could develop players well or that he could build a program. They just said he could never win the big one and that it would be hard to recruit to Tennessee. Wrong on the later, to be determined on the former. Look who wins the majority of NC's - older coach led programs. Now NIL has leveled the playing field versus the bag men method. Nobody can deny the program is on its best footing ever. There is a legit shot to get to that first FF or win it all at some point, especially since some of the NCAA's pet former NC winning coaches have retired. Along with the NCAA being defanged as well.

One head coach is younger. He went where everybody he knew said not to go. Some who thought that really believed UT would always be awful and cared that the good young coach would fail. Some knew that if the sleeping giant awoke, their own situations would worsen. We know what happened and will continue as that young coach is loyal to the core and is being handed the keys to the kingdom in return for what he has done for the program and the Vol fan base overall. No point to rehash how little he had to work with in doing it. However, its the stuff legends are made from and is long term.

As a result the players know they have their optimum opportunity to succeed at the next level by being Volunteers in ALL of its sports programs.

IMO, that method is exactly what Heup and staff are doing. They are only in Year 2 and look at what is already happening. Yes - you need the elite players to compete on an elite level consistently. But that does not mean the recruiting service rankings dictate who is elite and who is not. How did the services rank Grant Williams and Drew Gilbert coming out of HS? One became a first round draft choice and is playing a major role for his team in the NBA finals. The other will most likely be a first round choice in this year's draft and remade himself from a pitcher/part time player who had serious health concerns growing up into a premier hitter and fielder with speed in CF. Again, see the two head coaches and programs above. They saw what others did not - the potential and ability to build the system to accommodate those type players. Development first and then be good on game day. As the success builds, the truly elite players will choose to be Vols or have UT in their top 3. Check. It's actually happening early in the process for football compared to the two programs above with the help of NIL and the portal. Heup is doing it the same way. Hendon and Cedrick. Really? A failed, transfer QB from Va Tech and a last minute recruiting class throw-in receiver from Las Vegas with a .8255 rating on 247 - the #1677 prospect and #246 receiver nationally from the non-football state of Nevada. Both being the recruits of Cornbread. Fast forward. If they stay healthy, what round do you predict they will be drafted in next April? Development. See the other two programs above for reference. Heup is doing it the same way. It works.

It's OK, the BVS has been cured. If you are not over it mentally by now you are addicted to fear porn. We owe a debt of gratitude to the leaders of the university for making this happen - Randy, Donde, Danny and the BOT. Same for Spyre and the historically supportive boosters and donors. Most all we owe it to long suffering Vol fans like on here who hung in there through the bad stuff. Hat tip time.

Now, I am going to enjoy this summer like no other in recent memory. My TL;dr posts are done. Off to the beach to play in the sand with our grandchildren and enjoy life. Blessings and good wishes to everybody.

I don’t want to defend Nick Saban and he wouldn’t have been as dominate without his level of recruiting…. That being said…. His second year at Bama which started them on their road to greatness….. he only had 4 top 100 starters…. 4 2* starters 11 3* starters…. 5 other 4* starters….. The man can coach some football….. we need Heup to be able to do both.

I was so excited for the movie when it originally was suppose to drop…that me and my buddy who was going to go with me at the time almost bought maverick and goose replica matching flight helmets.we were also going to purchase flight suits from party city and show up to the movie theater…🥲😅😂 then COVID happened..top gun was my favorite movie growing up in the 90’s I literally wore it out and my parents watching it so much ..so this movie is definitely a big deal to me..I hope it’s as good as they say.

😂
I refuse to reward anyone who dishes on Phil Collins!
"the sellout who took Peter Gabriel's Genesis, that paragon of prog-rock, and turned it into a lame-o pop act and went on to make all those supercheesy hits that really did define the 1980s"

Ha, had no idea any of that happened. It was just the first thing that came to mind bc I was reading about it the other day!
My wife is/was a huge Beatles fan, I never was. She doesn’t even like McCartney.
Now I know why there were so many people with Beatles shirts walking around last night.

$5000 to watch a geriatric croak out old songs?
One of the greatest musicians and bandmember of THE undisputed greatest band of all time? Read any reviews of his performances and people will tell you it's one of the greatest shows of their life. You're talking Beatles...his own hits...Wings. Similar to seeing Elton John...who is fantastic, even at his age.

It's one thing if they play like Bruce or Buffalo Springfield at their age. But if they can still kill it like Elton or Steely Dan, then totally worth it imo.

Fwiw yeah 5k is ridiculous. Tix weren't nearly that much, dude was just gouging. My buddy works TBA security and got to see him for free...pretty jelly.

Concerts have priced me out of wanting to attend them.
Yeah, especially outdoor concerts are creeping up here at Rabbit Rabbit. $50+ is pretty much the minimum for just about any band. Indoor at the Orange Peel are still very reasonable ($20+). But once you go outdoor concerting, you don't want to go back to indoor venues.

Going to an outdoor show tonight featuring 2 well known bands, but we got free tix. We spend a mere 20 mins a month postering for the venue and we get 2 free tix. So it was basically $120 worth of value for 20 mins of getting some walking in. Now that's worth it.

I'd rather watch Garth Brooks. Heard his shows are outstanding, if you like his music.
