So Zakai signed a deal with Epic Games.... Wonder what for? The twitter release mentions Fortnite because that's what Epic's most known for but I kinda doubt that's what his deal is about. I know Fortnite sells a metric ton of cosmetics and skins but I can't see him driving that kind of market until he's more well known. Epic sells a lot of games in general and is invested in being a DRM/Store front option to Steam so there's probably various promo work I just don't see the direct line here. Kinda feels like Epic is banking on future NIL value but with Zakai who knows if he's going to get that chance due to his size.

Would love to know the details of this and/or if Epic and other companies are just buying up promo options with college players across the country (that's a strategy I can def. see happening at some point because you can get a lot of cheap work and if you've got a giant stable and one of your players hits you've got instant access to something hot).
Siap but Quinn Ewers and another major athlete signed with Fortnite as well.

Big time for Zakai.

Does that mean he has to do "the floss" and other fortnite celebratory dances after a big play? 😂

Man...a debate about GOAT stand-up is for sure challenging. Not only is comedy the most subjective form of entertainment there is, it also changes as individual people grow/change as they get older.

I don't know if I could ever pick one person...I enjoy quite a few. Have seen some big hitters in person too.

Jim Gaffigan & Eddie Izzard are both personal favorites, really love Tom Segura as well. Carlin, Norm, Pryor, Chappelle, and even Eddie Murphy also all are legends.

I'll go the other way...and say Brian Regan is probably one of the most overrated and I actually like him. But overpaid to see a show, he does basically 45 minutes of old bits for what ended up being exactly an hour long set. His opening act ran almost as long as he did.
Gaffigan has some pretty good stuff, but when does that weird whisper voice, it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me

From my own googling, Carlin or Pryor may be considered GOATs, but there's no real consensus.

Jmo but the GOAT for 1950-2100 will come in the next couple decades. Standup is absolutely exploding and is becoming much more international (more entrants in a market just increases the odds) - it's simply amazing how many Indian comedians are popping right now, along with a few Chinese, Africans, Hispanics, and Europeans...oh and a LOT more women. It's not quite the 80% American-Jewish Male industry it used to be (a study from the late 80's stated this based on professional comedians). Not that it's a bad thing, but we simply have far more people from across the globe giving it a try. Similar to modern NBA, the increased competition raises all boats.

In the meantime, there's gonna be a lot of different opinions. I'll take Mitch Hedberg for my money, jmo.

About 3 months ago we lost our 10 year old yorkie to kidney failure. It happened so fast, there was no warning signs or nothing. We tried a treatment but it didnt work. So we had to have her put down. She went every place with me. Well I decided I wanted another one and went and picked her up 2 days ago and now one of my huskies thinks she owns her. lolView attachment 460480

I lost my 10 year old golden retriever last Friday to sudden cardiac death. She was laying with me on my bed and in a second, she was gone. I know the feeling. Losing a dog is the equivalent of losing a family member. It’s tough and it takes a while to get over it.

Jim Gaffigan does clean comedy in a time where shock and awe are norm.
Gaffigan, Regan, Fluffy, Bargatze (Nashville kid - he's great), and others. Clean comedy is gaining popularity again for sure.

I'm just glad they can do it without being cheesy or flatout cringey ( :cough: Jeff Dunham :cough: ).

Stephen Wright ( funniest)
Mitch Hedberg (cool yet weird af)
Louis CK( truly the master)
Anthony Jeselnick( best style)
Bo Burnham ( best young comic today)
Zack Galifinakis (live at the purple onion is gold)
Dave Attell (the comedians' comedian)

All have incredible specials. I like a lot of others but thats my list if I had to pick.

Lots of greats here. I've a hard time getting into Bo, but would be willing to try him again. He did do a really good job in a comedy movie a couple years ago.

Galifinakis's special where he's just drunk playing the piano and talking to the audience was so fantastic. Wish he had more content.

Fun fact I just read about Dave Attell the other day, as it relates to Amy Schumer:

"Schumer changed her son's name to Gene David but initially, his middle name was Attell as he was named after the star's comedian and friend Dave Attell. She revealed in April that she had officially changed her son's moniker after realizing that it sounded similar to the word "genital."" Gene Attell 😂

Mitch would have killed it in this era. Lost him too soon.

You try Bo I'll try the Talking Heads which I've never been able to remotely enjoy.

Fwiw I think seeing him live is what did it for me. I actually wasn't a fan prior to that. My wife just had free tix to it so I was down. Glad I went...

Anthony Jeselnick is a new name, the others I'm familiar with and enjoy. Mitch sadly we didn't get enough from, but his jokes are the ones I quote the most.

Jeff Dunham, and, the rest of the lot = conservative humor.

Just be careful who you play Jeselnik around...the guy has the most brutal jokes. I'd say he goes further than any comedian I've ever heard. Way past Pryor and the oldheads. It's too much for a lot of folks. It's funny though if you can remember...it's just a joke.

I took it as a Georgia kid crapping on Knoxville. Hope I’m wrong
Yeah, probably just poor choice of words. Coaching is important, but total package is why you should pick a school. Coaches leave, but in today’s world, so do student athletes.

Okay VN, I need your help…

I am very concerned about the RF. I am easily staying caught up. Are y’all okay? I am used to being days to sometimes weeks behind. I can accept that. Being caught up makes me think that many of you are not okay.

Please let me know asap that you are okay and this is just an aberration.

Oh, and Football will be 15-0 🤠
I'm beginning to think this place may have finally wore me out. I've never been a negative person but lately-----well, I don't know :):), I'm just gonna start reading every third page---maybe that will help :):)
