So any truth to some rumblings that recent NIL scrutiny may have put a damper on Spyre's efforts with new recruits? Just curious. That's not what happened.
He visited us a few times, loved what we had to offer. Loved what we put together. So convincing in fact, that everyone around the program and his own family felt confident in Tennessee's chances.
Then Ohio State's head coach, of all people, comes out and demands more NIL resources, or their standing as an elite program would be in jeopardy.
A few weeks later they put themselves in a better position and won out. That's the game. We played it and almost won.
Next time we have to be harder to turn down.

They (the powers that be, and the golden children of the sport) will do everything that they can to neutralize our greatest advantage - NIL. Until the court rules in their favor, we have to do everything that we can to do the Nico plan as many times as possible. So any truth to some rumblings that recent NIL scrutiny may have put a damper on Spyre's efforts with new recruits? Our #1 priority should be Mauigoa. So I’m confused on one thing. Are we not in it for any highly rated WR’s that are tight with Nico? I just don’t recall seeing any quotes from anybody saying that they are close with him. I figured we would see some new names pop up once Nico committed but that doesn’t seem to be the case at the WR position. Maybe it’s hurting us a bit that Nico is in Cali.
I used to use that, but I only break it out when I've got a big shou sugi ban finish to apply on a project. I found this little fella and loved the way it looked. Much smaller and easier to maneuver. And yes, it's great for that reverse sear, too. This thing is a game changer and a fun toy.
Get those coals going in no time
Thats not exactly how i heard it. We were asked for more money than OSU after the Nico deal was released. He was asking OH St for quite a bit less and our coaches didnt want to give him want he wanted because they wanted to leave some for defense. To get some of these kids we need to start beating UF, UGA and BubbaThat's not what happened.

That makes sense too. In either scenario, we needed more resources. Think about if we didn't have to choose who we wanted.Thats not exactly how i heard it. He also grew up liking Ohio State, but yes, success begets success. So after some thought the Tate decision is pretty simple. If the NIL deals were pretty much equal he chose the school with much more recent success. A 9 win season by Heupel and company in 2022 will help immensely with next year's recruiting class.
