It always bugs me when people act like this before the season has even started. Recruits that commit in the offseason flip all the time. Miami may come out like hot garbage this fall and this kid starts looking around. Money talks but nobody wants to lose their whole career. Hard to make it to the NFL that way.

I heard on the CDM show that in time there would be some type of "salary" cap but they were not able to come up with a way to implement it since there is no Union or Contract with the schools, NCAA and players or anybody else for that matter. I hate seeing biding wars for kids that have never played a meaningful snap other than in HS and against much weaker talent .

Other teams saying the same about us though. In the ACC Miami has a fairly easy path every year.

didn't a lot of folks on here initially talk about how ahead of the game Spyre was/is compared to other schools and what good shape we are in? What happened? Did they spend all the funds on Nico?

Just because they didn't spend $4M on an offensive lineman doesn't mean they couldn't have if they wanted to.

One of the growing negatives of the NIL era is jealousy among teammates over NIL equity. I know of one Power 5 team that has already had to have a special team meeting because of internal grumbling between players.
This type of pressure will only grow when highly paid players do not perform up to expectations. Locker rooms could get intense.

Miami has a billionaire donor that is out of his mind. Didn’t make sense to spend so much money on an offensive guard

I like the fact that our staff are adding very solid contributors and depth pieces while also swinging for the fences on elite talent. They have a very balanced approach to recruiting and have gotten some good players and great kids in the boat....all in year 2 of being on the job of rebuilding a dumpster fire that was facing NCAA sanctions

They are doing a great job and will only get better. Their approach is also sustainable. Mix in some on-field success and their efforts will yield more results. Lots to be excited for the future even if we lose some high profile recruiting battles over the summer. Land a few good OL, another corner, a LB, a WR and then see who we pull on NSD.....will be a very solid foundational class. We already know they can win 7 or 8 games with a patchwork roster. I is chill.

Lol people use so much hyperbole my goodness just relax this is the most stability our staff has had in a long time and they will be well coached… once we do good this year on the field the recruits will come… and we still have a lot of really good players committed we get some we miss some but no one single recruit will stop a program from moving in the right direction… most of Nico’s weapons are already on campus anyway and indications are Ethan Davis has looked the part of a 5 star all summer… let it play out before we turn every thread into a sad thread please.

Throw this guy Allen, Benson, Cobb, Rojas, Parker, Strozier, and Osborne in there too. So far this class has been very disappointing
Idk. I would say we’re ahead of schedule honestly. You landed the highest ceiling QB in this class. You’ve got an elite TE in this class and next imo. Mauigoa was a MISS, so was Cobb imo of how the staff feels about him; all those others are replaceable imo with comparable. Some misses are bigger than others, jmo though.

IMO, the jury is still out on the recruiting ability of this staff. They've gotten some good pieces but we need major upgrades and an infusion of talent to compete at a high level. The defense needs a two deep rotation at minimum.

Will create big distractions.
