Overall, it is good to remember, we were basically counted as DOA this time last year, and now we are rolling! We have a chance to land a top 10 class and we have the best QB in the class. I do not in any way mean to imply anything other. I am not upset about getting one 5* instead of two today! And we have a huge week coming up. Nothing I say is in the category of "melt down." I just saw Soil's message introduced and then ignored a second time, and decided to say something. I am probably among the least out of sorts on account of this day.

No worries. I somewhat agree with you, but part ways on the "should" argument.

If someone used their baby formula money for NIL collective, I'd tell them they had their priorities seriously out of whack.

I won't tell someone what they "should" do--including rich boosters. We don't have a right to expect them to satisfy our hunger for successful teams.

But if you get a bunch of fans on here that just want to bitch, whine, moan and complain that we're missing out on recruits and losing on the field, it doesn't hurt to remind them what they "could" do to help besides bitching, whining, moaning and complaining.

My first thought was that baby formula is scarce right now, so maybe they should use it…what’s wrong with me? 😳

Well the only bright side for me personally is today’s commitment/getting the shaft has taken my mind off the Tennessee baseball heartbreak in the Supers. Just a different level of nut kick.

I suggest we quit looking for who to blame and move on. He picked Miami. We ain't paying 4 million dollars for one OL. That's the hardest position to project and we are in on a number of other highly rated linemen. He didn't pick us, he also didn't pick Bama or USC. If all we recruited were 3 stars no one would notice. Coaches are doing a heckuva job. Based on the performance of Athletics as a whole I'd say the Admin is doing a heckuva job. Again, just my opinion.

This.

Can’t fault our coaches.. they’re fighting
Well they need to take some more sparring lessons cause they are getting curb stomped currently. It's great to build up those relationships but it's all for nothing if they don't win in the end. Even Huep said it himself that we need to start winning some of these recruiting battles....

It's okay. Things are looking really good. It may have been a huge win for us today, for all I know, if the money is added to the next three and we win them.

Now that my blood pressure is down. I’m not gonna lie if you told me 6 months ago we would have this list of players already committed at the beginning of July I would be very happy. I see 3s that will play themselves into 4s during the season. The QB with the most raw talent in the class. I also feel we are going to add more building blocks the next two weeks.

I’ve come to realize that the worst part of missing on a recruit is the doomsaying that inevitably follows.
Yep I said this place would come unhinged if we didn't land Mauigoa.Everyone said "Bruh chill we getting that 5 star Echols we be strait"...9 hrs later here we sit lol

Not really…we are swinging big and you miss some.

Sorry, I wasn't directing it at you necessarily just the topic. I should have been more clear.

Tbh, I don't understand why anyone gets massively upset about the comings and goings and fleeting desires of kids that don't choose their school. I get bummed for sure, but not upset.

I think people should do what they think they should do. If that's donate to Spyre. Power to ya/us. Thanks, it helps.

But I also think people just want to point blame at whoever and whatever they can when something doesn't go our way. And now with Spyre, it seems a lot want to blame the lowly fan for not creating a monthly budget, carved out of his/her child's baby food and diaper money fund (because let's be honest, any extra $50 we had each month is going to gas and groceries right now) so it can get funnelled to an 18 yr old that may never play a down.

Buying players is a rich man's game. But right now it doesn't seem like our rich men are playing (that doesn't necessarily make it the fans' responsibility either).

Again, if anyone has the extra a month and wants to throw it in the pot for the collective - good for them. I just hate the idea of placing the blame on the people who don't or choose not to. People who use their extra money for tithes or donating to NGOs for noble causes. Or just those saving every extra penny to get ahead and move up in life. Just my two cents.
Well and reasonably said.
