It's mahogany ya moran! Mahogany!
Mah-haw-gen-ee.

My next door neighbor growing up was a retired Yankee who spoke through his nose. My Grandmother, a Pastors widow, loved to sit through his Budweiser laced, Winston fueled fbomb rants. Funny, this makes me think of his interior, which he famously bragged was all mahogany. If only this was personification of something ...586CBA34-F44D-4137-9CD1-5932AD83A46A.gif

saw it on twitter, retweet by barrett salee. but the way it was presented didn't make a ton of sense.

i think the ACC is in trouble. and living in NC, it's been a big topic, and listening to some sports radio around here, it seems there's already at least some level of acceptance that the old tobacco road rivalries may be gone or drastically changed.

the thing that gets talked about some, however, is that some of the schools seem to be a better fit for the Big 10, academics wise, and it gets the Big 10 in markets in the south, so there's some mutual attraction.

for the SEC, the opportunity is to gain markets to expand the Southeast coverage in NC and VA. and there's multiple programs that can do that, for both conferences.

the SEC nor the Big 10 is going to go after and/or take both schools available in VA or FL. there's 4 to divvy up in NC, assuming Wake Forest is in play for either, which i don't think is the case. so that leaves Duke, NCSU and UNC. i think the SEC would probably put UNC, NCSU, Duke in that order. problem is i think the Big 10 would probably be the same.

for FL schools....FSU probably makes the most sense, and that would probably get some support from member institutions b/c it preserves FSU/FL.

Clemson, GT, Miami and whoever's left in NC and VA will be interesting. the big question for me is how far north would the SEC want to go? you go after a Pitt or WVU? to go along with any adds from VA or NC? the big 10 could find itself in FL, GA, NC and/or SC depending. and in today's world, how much value is there in expanding geographic market when you have rock solid brands that will attract viewership regardless of geography? would we not take Clemson just because we already have USCe? or FSU/UM b/c we have Florida? i tend to think not, simply because the branding for those programs could be considered a bigger value add than the geography gains. UNC, UVA, VT provide both geography and branding opportunities, in multiple sports.

anyway...very interesting times ahead, and i hate all of it. but i understand it.

The dollar ads of usc-ucla to the big 10 make a lot more sense than what’s left out there.

Interested to see for sure.

Prefer to go after programs that are good over media markets. I know both matter. But bamas a terrible market and it never stopped them. Our play/coaching/homegrown talent has been superior in the sec for years. I say build on that.

Miami/fsu/vaTech. Clemson

I'd replace Miami with North Carolina. Let Ruiz buy himself a team that gets left out.

Yeah, I'm bitter.

he just needs to stay Starlord forever. Dont overthink it Marvel.

Making these random no point movies just to cast a She Hulk, or a Muslim teenager, while admirable - is trying too hard. Before you think im a biggoted, racist please watch the material. It would be bad no matter.
Watch what?

If they really want super conferences, there needs to be 4, and they need to be somewhat regional. Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, and Northwest. But I doubt that favors the money, so it won't happen.
I really think it should be regional.. but obviously not happening

Truthfully, I'd rather see the ACC stay together, maybe even expand themselves, and they and the SEC come to a deal for cross conference games. I think it would make for better football than a super conference.
The entire ACC and SEC will merge, writing is on the wall.

Or maybe 5. They could call them the Power 5. I think we are onto something.
