I could see USC. All that program has ever needed was a great coach again, similar to ourselves.Someone asked Josh Pate who the next top tier program will be in modern college football. He answered:
A&M
UNC
USC
Texas
Penn St
Then he made a point to highlight Tennessee
Like a lot of us have pointed out on here, Pate thinks that Tennessee or UNC or maybe even a VT could use the Clemson blueprint and emerge as a top program this decade.
Almost forgot about Rucker.. but I think Christian Charles will be a big asset for us this yearWhich year two guys you most intrigued by?
I'd like to see if Deshawn Rucker steps up. Door is wide open. Has a lot of natural ability. Not sure what held him back last year? IIRC he played in a few games and then disappeared. Mightve just been the plan to redshirt him. Also IIRC he looked terrible in the bowl game and was taken off the field - but honestly the entire defense looked bad that day.
As far as second year transfers.... put me down for William Mohan. Word was he's an athletic freak just raw. Interested to see what a year of development, and essentially two years in college, does for him. Like the secondary, the door is wide open at LB.
IMO, UNC will stay down this year.I could see USC. All that program has ever needed was a great coach again, similar to ourselves.
I think we've seen Franklin's peak at Penn St. He's hit his inflection points and been unable to break through.
UNC is just lol. Great coach, but his time is surely limited, while both recruiting and on-field results already peaked and are back down.
Texas and A&M are intimately intertwined and huge wildcards. Can both exist as major players simultaneously? Can even 1 exist as the other feeds off it like a 3rd party in politics? Will be interesting to follow.
He was mainly talking about the programs in relation to talent near them, not necessarily the coaches.I could see USC. All that program has ever needed was a great coach again, similar to ourselves.

I'm sure you guys will find it amusing that the son of former UGA player Verron Haynes just stepped on Georgia's face with a hobnail boot. Justice Haynes committed to Alabama and, judging from the number of people who thought Haynes was a Georgia lock, it appears he did it with bad intent. Georgia fans are not happy campers right now.
Anyway, time for my vodka, orange, pomegranate and lemon juice cocktail.
