T.S. Eliot said April was the cruelest month. He was wrong. July is just brutal. It’s been almost 7 months since we saw our Vols on the field. Recruiting has slowed way down. No sporting events that are worth a damn. July. July is definitely the cruelest month. So ready for football.

I used to think April was bad, too, but I started watching UT baseball more several years ago, and the Grizzlies have been entertaining as well. So, you are right, July is bad. I believe today and Wednesday are the two days of the year where none of the 4 major sports play games.

On 247, our overall team composite rating went up .02 from 90.42 to 90.44. Bama’s went up .15

You can understand why they don't want to reduce the sport to who can best time the cadence of the gun, right?

In a sport commonly decided by hundredths of a second, why would you make getting a tenth of a second advantage possible via pure luck?

No offense, but I think the track rules committees have thought this one through more than you have.

How hard is it to just randomize the gun delay? You really think an arbitrary amount of reflex time is better than that? You must be one of those people who believe every rule and law was fully fleshed out and researched because the establishment couldn't possibly be made up of ignorant or lazy or biased people.

It's so ridiculous. I hope the NCAA or SEC doesn't fall for it, but it's going to happen.
