Here are his career numbers, against pretty low level competition:

I am really not seeing what the hype is about. I know that stats don't tell the whole story. I am not sure how much he has camped, but I think it is questionable that he is even a true 5 start, much less one of the three best players this century.
Now post Harrison Bailey’s stats playing in the hardest division in high school.

I don’t know, I think our fans will justify it and say this is “different”. Butch Jones used to do corny stuff everyday and many here were like “OMG he’s playing chess not checkers these kids love it derp”.
There's a common logical error made here--applying the actions of "the group" to actions of individuals. You can't really paint folks as hypocrites because of perceived actions by others in a shared group. That would be utter failure in critical thinking.

Another logical error is not understanding the laws of non-contradiction. A contradiction is basically when something tries to be both true and false in the same context, and at the same time. Vol fans may have cheered Butch, learned their lesson about car salesmen, and now eschew car salesmen in favor of authenticity. You would be excluding the potential and benefit of growth.

I was just laughing at the escalation from this year's class to "this century." I think @BigSteve09 nailed the manic and overwrought coverage at #173,733.

Greg McElroy ranks his top 5 SEC quarterbacks ahead of 2022 season (saturdaydownsouth.com)

  1. Bryce Young, Alabama
  2. Stetson Bennett IV, Georgia
  3. Spencer Rattler, South Carolina
  4. Hendon Hooker, Tennessee
  5. KJ Jefferson, Arkansas
I don't understand the Rattler love.
I can understand Bennett. He benefits from a good team and just won the national championship last year.

Rattler hasn't been able to hold down a starting job being surrounded by a good team. What's he going to do at South Carolina? Nothing.

Can anyone explain Hendon in the Top 5?

Young
Rattler
Rogers
Jefferson
Levis
Richardson
Hooker
Dart
Bennett
Daniel's

And the only reason I don't have Texas A&M fit is I have no idea who will land it.

if you had those 10
I want Hendon to be the best .....but judging by the draft experts, I am not sure I can say he is top 5.

Btw when we rank the top 5 is this a future cast or what they will be in 2022 in the SEC?

2022 clearly.

He was top 3 in the nation last year. So saying he wouldn't be top 5 in his own conference is silly.

THOUGH having playmakers does matter. We'll have to wait and see if Tillman returns or not.

The lowest Hooker should be rated is 3. I'd say 2 is more accurate. And after this season he dang well may be #1. Also, anyone who puts Rattler in the ranking at all is silly. The guy got replaced and rode the bench and hasn't played a single down in the SEC. Maybe rank him next year after he actually plays some.
