Random note - Austin Lewis (Jonesborough kid...ETSU walkon transfer..was FWAA freshman AA at Liberty) did not make the camp 110 squad. At least a little surprising.

Another walkon someone asked about also didn't make it. Knox West standout Shannon Blair.

I thought Blair had suffered a torn ACL and wouldn't play this year.

It’s not that complicated. It’s no coincidence that the same teams winning conference and division championships and making the CFP year in and year out and going to NY6 or former BCS Bowls are the ones finishing in the top 10 in recruiting every year. Yeah there are the Michigan States, Utahs, and Baylors etc every now and then, but generally speaking teams that consistently recruit in the top 7-8 are the teams that usually end up in the playoff. After this season we can’t finish outside of the top 12 again if we plan on consistently having 10+ win seasons

They are recruiting talented players for sure. Primarily they are signing the crème of the 4 stars, not run of the mill 4 stars. The ones with hard offers and visits to multiple top 20 teams are good bets when you stack them up every class

But that does not support better success for teams signing from the 4 star residuals that get passed during their applicable drafts.

Nor does it take away from the lower star guys that passed them being misses for a lot of reasons. Would like to see a distribution chart on drafted 3 stars by conference.

Not enough granularity in the star structure but don’t know how to get there.

Bru McCoy was repping with the third team and looks like he’s got some work to do to get in football shape.

Since he's not cleared to play this year, is it possible the coaches feel the need to give the practice reps to guys who are eligible? Just a thought

Needed gas while passing through Ardmore today for work, which straddles the TN/AL border. Passed up the less-busy Bammer-side stations to pull into the much busier, less-convenient TN-side ones because football season is nearing and I’m petty like that.

I did the Zugspitze / Garmish / EaglesNest/ Sweden route. Stayed in a cabin at the base of the mountain…took the cable car up and skied …then on to Austria and Sweden…awesome experience

I honestly think it's

1) an "earn it" mentality from the staff. He hasn't earned anything here yet. Has to prove it (even if it's just a formality) and show he is hungry

2) he simply needs to learn how we practice. It's like your first day on a new job. Even if you've done something similar before, things will be different. With our tempo, it's going to be a bit of a shock. "Practice like you play" and all

Nosebleed photos (yer welcome) but Rage Against the Machine reunion + Run The Jewels in Raleigh (NC St's arena too...the arena is also right beside their football stadium...great setup). Bucket list item checked off for my wife and I.

Only been to 2 arena concerts in my life where the ENTIRE crowd stood the entire time...this was one of them. The best was the group in front of us...dad with his ~10 yo son who was going wild every song Closing with "Killing in the Name Of" with 30k hands up and 3-4 moshpits at once had me in my feels Beautiful sight...great crowd.
