Exactly. Hundreds of coaches have done it before. It should not be a big deal.

Why would we not want him being a major part of a National Title run?! That would be publicity which we could not get any other way.

I can see the sense of urgency from both sides. It is possible for a coach to recruit for one team and work for another. I don’t see the big deal of letting Pruitt finishing out his time at Alabama—-it’s good publicity for UT—not like we don’t need that NOW.

I think its because Fulmer remembers Cut insisted on going to Ole Miss and did not help coach the TN national title game.

Mark Packer said on the radio that he felt it was most likely Pruitt but doubted an announcement tonight because of the Lady Vols game and Phil and Bev wouldn't want overshadow that.

No clue if that makes sense, seems like one of our teams is playing basketball every night so whatever.

This is just elementary stupid. Bring is ass in this weekend, pump him full of redbulls and deck him out in full UT gear and have him wow recruits. He can say he IS the new coach... He lets recruits know he will be contacting them but will need to finish what he started and in a few weeks be full time UT ... I swear people are so retarded.

But that’s exactly the thing — no way Pruitt blows up a deal to become the head coach at Tennessee because Alabama wants him to stay for another month. He may want to do both, but if he had to choose, he would take our job and not coach the playoffs, especially because it’s not like he hasn’t been there before.

Most schools make reasonable hires, within reasonable time frames, for reasonable money. We're the only ones taking a month to hire Mr. .200 for 5 million a yr.

I know football is a little different, but in the real world, you aren't working two jobs, especially when they are direct competitors (rivals). If we make this hire, I would want all focus on salvaging this class and recruiting others. You know that any Bama early enrollees are off limits as long as he is working for Bama.
