It was pretty obvious we were trending this direction with the late offers we threw out there.

There’s no way to spin this one boys, this is subpar for a signing day

On one hand, I think it is incredible we were even in the discussion for some of these guys, given the timeline.

On the other hand, that timeline and early signing period drop were of Pruitt's making. He didn't have to coach Bama playoff games, and showing loyalty by doing it for the kids hasn't paid us much dividends so far today.

😂😂😂

That silver lining is a STRETCH.

Like I’ve said all along. I’d trade the right coach and system for any recruit. It’s one class and look at the circumstances. If you were a 5* are you coming here right now? It’s incredible that we were even in the discussion with some guys.

I'd imagine some attrition will happen after Spring practice and getting the full 25 next year won't be a problem.

Attrition will not matter if someone blue shirts. If they blue shirt they effectively eat up a 19 scholarship and not one for this year.

We went 0-8 in the SEC and people expect us to land 5* recruits left and right.

Makes sense.

i didnt see where ppl said they expect 5 stars left and right? who wrote that?

also doesnt change the fact that this isnt a good class for this conference. Just bc ppl state fatcs doesnt mean they are upset or delusional.

They’re not mutually exclusive though. Having a good coach that can recruit is key. I think that’s exactly what Pruitt is. Which is why today is disappointing.

All together, everyone:

Smell the flowers.....

Blow out the candles......

Repeat......

We don't have the talent, depth, or experience to compete in rhe SEC the next few years. Can't really blame Pruitt at this point. Buckle up

Welp, KV's and Chief's trust in Fulmer lasted all of 2 months. Glad to have the old versions back. This forum wouldn't have been the same without you.

My bar for success is not “better than Butch” and even if it was it’s very likely Butch would have done better than this.

Neither is mine. But, that's not the point.

That's your opinion that Butch would have done better than this. We'll never know. However, I find it hard to believe, personally, considering he would have been coming off of an 0-8 SEC season in his 5th year. That's pretty hard to sell.

Good lord, not only are we not seeming to get ANYONE, but guys are trolling us, WTF? Should we question this staff yet? I get they were working against the clock and didn't have a lot of time, but many of these kids had prior relationships with our staff...

I guess I will give them a year of recruiting, but once again, WE ARE 3* U!
The pressure will be on this staff right out of the gate to see if this is another pipe dream like Butch or if they can actually coach up talent. The jury will be out... they will be working with an overal 3* talent base and will have to compete in a tough conference...

I am going to hold judgement for a year, but thinking the staff was on another level from a recruiting standpoint may be bogus. When we can't even get Ogbannia and are being owned by Taggart who had as much time or less on a team with a subpar record, things don't look good.

Problem is, we don’t yet know if we have the right coach or right system. It’s all up in the air!

What we do know is this class does not get us closer to the peak of the SEC and that in and of itself is a failure.

I don’t care about who we’re in the discussion for. I care about who we sign. And right now we’re signing guys that didn’t have offers two weeks ago and some Brent Hubbs described as “too raw, might be a good fit at MTSU.”
