Grad transfers doing the recommitment dance now. First that QB that was going to Bama flipping to WSU. Now the former notre dame DL flipping from OK to UGA. UGA is over 85 scholarship limit so they must be expecting transfers.

Be interesting to see if any of the UGA transfers are former Pruitt/sherrer/rocker/friend/Lilly recruits that would be worth looking at....although guess it depends on if it's a scrub cut or just a dude wanting more PT

But seriously, I think some of the renovations are symbolic. They want to strip away everything from the failed regime and create a new culture ground-up. The new staff is disgusted by the state of the program-- and the players-- and wants the team to be in a completely different environment with a different routine and expectations. They're spending a bundle-- wouldn't have happened without Fulmer.

They've also sent a weightlifting program to incoming players to start conditioning this spring in preparation for joining the team. It's pretty rigorous.

A current player (starter on offense) has described training as "Daylight and dark" between the 2 staffs. The "quiting" comment didn't start or just happen Saturday. It was an accumulation of the last 3 months.

When JP's stops talking about "quitting", you'll know this team has become a much tougher group of young men.

If I remember correctly Bennie Whiley was hired away by Texas after a year here. Guy looked like he was cut out of stone. I thought the perception of him was that he was a top strength coach though.

That was the perception but it doesn't seem to be reality. He was at Texas during their softest years after we got rid of him. I think he was mostly known for videos of him doing the workouts with the players and everybody thought that was great. All the same things we said about him during and after his tenure hear were said by texas fans.

Wylie worked for Brown during his final three seasons at Texas. Prior to that Wylie led the strength programs for Tennessee (2010) and Texas Tech (2002-09). He also spent four years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Dallas Cowboys (1999-02), where he worked with former Oklahoma strength coach Joe Juraszek.

Forgot he went to TX. Can't believe Oklahoma hired him. He has been a total failure everywhere except tx tech.

We didn't get rid of him though did we? I thought he just left for Texas.

For some reason his first sentence tripped me out in the video. It was one of those "in super excited" but he either isn't super excited or he is so freaking excited he wants to rip someone's head off and trying to contain it

I feel like it was more of something thrown in, but not the main point. And I also think he killed some brain cells in the past with "supplements" that he tested for his players.

:)

We had like 8 blown achilles. We couldn't wait to get rid of him.

And he hasn't worked in football since Mack Brown got fired. He's just been a private trainer. He was always more about doing things for attention than anything else.

Edit: On his website he brags about winning some NBC reality tv show about being strong. :lolabove:
