Joe Burrow transferring from tOSU. Graduate transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

I will be on the Isle of Palms in a few weeks. Can't wait.

Another beautiful place. Enjoy yourselves. :)

Our daughter and family were in that area and went to the beach there a couple of weeks ago. They are threatening to move there. lol. Son-in-law has been talking to a potential employer in Mount Pleasant, but he needs to complete some additional college level work before it can happen.

You're in Memphis and travel all the way to Charleston too? We vacation on IOP as well.

Where do yall stay?

I am very fortunate to have in-laws who have a beach house on IOP. My father in law travelled everywhere in the Air Force but went to The Citadel. He bought after Hurricane Hugo.

I have been at all times of the year for various reasons, but once our two oldest kids started school, we have been leaving the day after they get out. Charleston schools don't get out until after the first week in June, so the beaches aren't crowded. We just added a 4th child a couple of months ago, so I will need patience for this year's drive.

You and I are few and far between in Memphis because people can't believe we go that far. Everyone else heads down to 30A.

FWIW, the Charleston area and lowcountry in general may be the GOAT for a lot of stuff.

Food, beach, golf, history, and I have gotten into their craft beer, too.

Great times.

Edit: I have had to take time off from golf because of 4 kids. But some day, I am going to make the trip down to Kiawah and spend the money to play the Ocean Course. Probably when I am old.

Similar. Our family has a place inside Wild Dunes, so we make the trek every summer for a couple weeks.

Our friends all go to 30A too.

Best food in the country imo

Nice. Just a great vacation.

I am getting a bonus this year. I am staying for about 10 days, and the rest of my family is staying longer. I work for myself and make no money when I am gone. So, I am coming back on my own and will have about 10 more days without kids. Not sure which vacation is better.

When/if you get one or more of those kids interested in the game it can start back fully. For me it was my daughter in the 8th grade. She lettered 4 years in HS and we still play together at times even if only for 9 holes. Working on the oldest grandson now.

It doesn't get any better than Kiawah for golf IMO. Gorgeous courses that on windy days will eat you alive. It doesn't get much better for a hotel/resort than The Sanctuary either, at least the last time we were there a half dozen years ago. Love how you can get into downtown Charleston in less than 30 minutes, but when you are on island it feels like you are really remote. Bucket list for sure - go.

I'm sort of a self appointed judge on quality shrimp 'n' grits FWIW. :p It is my role in life to seek out all restaurants that have it on the menu and test. My personal take is that the better ones have pimento cheese grits as their base. I passed the She-Crab soup judging rights on to my son-in-law. Still love it, but getting bored with all the judging responsibilities. :)

That's exactly how my Dad started playing again. He had given it up when my brother and I were young, but he started playing again when I picked it up. That's really cool that your daughter played.

I was never a big shrimp and grits fan until I started going to Charleston. Those shrimp and grits will make you change your mind really fast.

FWIW VolGee and 85SV, I did the 30A back when I lived in NE Arky for a dozen years. Primarily in Destin. Dad always did Ft. Walton for a couple of months in the winter.

I haven't been in a long time, and I hear it's getting crowded. Some people probably think Charleston is crowded, too, but I know my way around there and know what I want to see.

We may not ever do it again because of the length of the trip, but we went to the northern part of the Outer Banks several years back. I thought it was fantastic as well.

If you ever make it down to HHI, go to Dockside at Skull Creek. On the north end at the marina. The best for this area of the lowcountry IMO. Fresh South Carolina shrimp are so good. Add in the kielbasa, green and red peppers, onions, PM grits and a small swirl of barbecue sauce on top.

My next judging gig will be variations of Eggs Benedict. The Sunday brunches have many different lowcountry types. Tried a Filet (4 oz.) Benedict Sunday. That's now high on the list. My favorite still remains the Crab Cake so far.

Losing the battle of the waistline though. Got to get back to reality and work on that when we get home.

All of that sounds fantastic.

Same here - it's just way too crowded and developed for us. Far worse than HHI/Charleston during the prime season.

OB is great to visit. Never own there. Hurricanes keep the property torn up all the time. We had a condo we sold in '07 on North Topsail Island just south of the OB outside Jacksonville. Two hurricanes and a big upcoming assessment for renovations in the future encouraged us to sell when the market was high. Glad I got out even though it was such a quiet, restful, beautiful place to be.

My family is all still back east. We did Destin for years and years until it got wiped out.

Eventually we discovered Charleston. Heaven on Earth. The IOP connector is like a bridge to another dimension.

As I see all these predictions and ratings come out for the 2018 college football season, it got me thinking.

We as fans tend to always think the media and pundits underrate the Vols. When was the last time we overachieved as a football program? Like we were predicted to go 6-6 but actually went 8-4 or something like that.

Probably 2015
