NHL has been good. preds being out now kinda drops off the talk in Tennessee. but there's a game 7 coming up between Washington and Tampa that should be really good. very physical series, especially game 6.

and Vegas, 1st year as a franchise makes it to the cup final.....

and Golf has been ok.

past that, we're fast approaching the dead time. i'll catch the NBA during the finals.

I agree about the NHL. I’ve never watched the playoffs until the Stanley Cup started but this is the first year I’ve watched almost every game and I love it.

Playoff hockey is so underrated.

I don’t know how many more games but to say he doesn’t take/make clutch shots is wrong. I thought he broke the all time record for playoff and non playoff clutch shots too.

Finals loss thing is BS. The only finals series that he shouldn’t have lost was the one to the Mavs that was bad. Regardless, He has to make super teams to compete with super teams. The Spurs teams in their peak and now the Warriors are better than any team the bulls had to play. Hell the bulls were the super team of the 90s.

You were barely alive in the 90’s....

Some preseason anonymous coaches thoughts on UT. Both coaches agreeing on Guarantano.

PSA: Breakerboy, do not read.

Anonymous coach comments: Jeremy Pruitt's Tennessee program sized up, Butch Jones obliterated

Wow. Not surprised by the comment regarding Jones. He's an idiot. I am VERY surprised by the comment about our talent. I honestly think we have more talent than people think.

Unfortunately, I do agree with the assessment of Guarantano. He just didn't look very good last year. If this staff can turn him around to be a productive player, it'll say a lot about their coaching skills. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chryst jump over him as the starter.

This quote made me chuckle:

The quotes provided go all-in on how terrible Butch Jones is currently perceived in the SEC. Of course, the former Tennessee coach is currently rehabbing his image at the Nick Saban School for Interns Who Can’t Coach Good and Want to Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too:

It's amazing how badly the 2017 season turned out. I still think Butch is a better coach than what he showed the last couple of years. Or at least, he was. He lost his confidence somewhere between the Oklahoma and Florida games in 2015, and then everything went downhill. It made him change his entire coaching philosophy. Somehow his teams went from tough and hard-nosed to Charmin soft.

But the warning signs were there all along, really. The Florida game in 2014 is really pathetic in hindsight. Worley couldn't get anything going and we had Dobbs just sitting there. They knew they had a slippery QB would could generate offense without even throwing a pass. And lo and behold, Muschamp employed that strategy and beat us with it.

I'm just disheartened by everything about the football program these days. Pruitt has a tough road ahead of him. It sucks to be back to just hoping to make a bowl game. But man does he have a golden opportunity to win some fan support this season. If he can beat Florida, he'll get a pass even if we go 5-7.

Used to be a fan of Curry until we attended the last regular season game in Phx against the Warriors .

My son is 11 and currently in maintenance treatment for Leukemia and was a special guest of the Suns.

His favorite player is Curry and he had the opportunity to meet players on both teams.

Klay Thompson was awesome and spent some time with him.

Curry not so much. Cocky and arrogant and wouldn't even give us the time of the day. Disappointed for my son but he still loves Curry.

My new fav player is Klay. Curry can shoot bricks and go kick some rocks.

Meeting your heroes rarely turns out well. Good to hear that Klay was cool, though.

It changed when he fired Dave Lawson. People used to talk about how Tennessee was tough and rugged, then Lawson's gone and we start seeing injuries pile up and the blowouts started happening.

There were complaints about injuries the season before Lawson was let go tho.

I wasn't there, so I'm not sure what he said last night... but Trey has been cleared to work out with the team and has been doing voluntary workouts with other players for several weeks. Technically, they're not all that voluntary-- players who intend to be on the field next fall are "encouraged" to take advantage of the new weight room every day.

All the players who sat out the spring are expected to be ready to go this fall, including Trey. With the new guys coming in and expecting to contribute, it won't be the same team we saw this spring.

Yep, Pruitt said in Chattanooga that he's working out when nobody tells him to work out. He's definitely one of the players who is all in.

Butch Jones perceived as a horse sh*t coach by other SEC coaches. Unable to develop talent, unable to change system to personnel.

The warning signs were there when Justin Worley was running the spread option.

New VQ article up on Shyheim Battle and his clear leader if anyone has access.

Nvm

Battle, an early enrollee, naming Clemson as his leader isn’t very surprising as the Tigers have always been an intriguing option. The Clemson coaches seem to really be recruiting him hard but want to make sure he is finished researching the rest of his schools before accepting his commitment. N.C. State is far from giving up on Battle but they need to reverse the momentum if they hope for a positive outcome. Ohio State, Clemson, Tennessee, and N.C. State will probably get official visits from Battle.
