Tennessee football: Saban's actions prove Vols could be good in 2018

Definitely a bias take and not all of it is completely factual (Kennedy will have more than one year). But I do agree that Saban wouldn't block us unless he knew what we could do with some momentum.

Tennessee won't be in position to compete with Alabama this year IMO. If we recruit and develop on an elite level we could give them a run for their money in 2019 though. I'd guess with Saban it's more a matter of principle.

Soon you won't even need it.

To be clear, my comments on Curry were solely in response to hank saying how much he hates him. Was only puzzled by the level of hate for someone that’s had to work hard to get where he is. Nothing to do with Lebron, MJ, Shaq, or Manute Bol

This.

It’s the biggest difference between Lebron and others. He is not as skilled as Curry. Doesn’t shoot as well or handle the ball as well. He certainly isn’t as talented or skilled as Jordan. But he’s a physical freak. Like I said the other day, if he were the same size as Jordan he’d be average at best.

Curry is as good as he is through hard work and development of skill. Big difference.

You have to be on drugs. You're telling me Lebron James isn't as skilled as Curry? We're talking about a guy who will likely score more points than anyone in the history of basketball, will finish top ten all time in assists, and top 25 all time in rebounds. Don't forget he can guard all 5 positions and is one of the best passers to ever play the game. He's two inches taller than Jordan as well, you're acting like it's some David and Goliath deal. As has been said many times on here, Curry is an all time three point shooter. That's it. Guy is a liability on defense and he's soft as cotton. Get real.

I was reading the quotes by "anonymous" SEC coaches about this team not having much talent, especially on defense outside of Warrior and DK if healthy. While I do think the switch to a 3-4 (although we will mostly be in Nickle anyway) might take some time we do have some talent on this team. DK, Tuttle, Kongbo?, Taylor, Bituli, Phillips, Warrior are all good players that with the right coaching can play really well. We do lack depth, especially on the DL and OL but CJP is still looking to shore that up a bit with Grad transfers and JUCO's. On offense, we need to find our play makers. Having JJ back will be big, and Callaway has talent. RB will be good with Chandler, Jordan (my breakout player this year), London and Banks. OL depth is an issue, but the coaches do seem to be trying to shore that up. I'm not saying we will win the SEC or anything, but I don't think we lack in talent like everyone is saying.

We have some unappreciated talent, some high potential talent that needs developing, some solid talent coming off injury and some raw talent coming in. People are overlooking the potential this team has and discounting what a difference a new culture, a major attitude change, a lot of hard work and a will to win can do.

Under a decent coach, we were a 7 or 8 win team last year. We don't have top SEC talent, but we have more talent than some programs that people think will beat us.

CURry is a wayyyy better shooter and ball handler than Jordan...so who’s more talented. The whole skilled argument is so irrelevant to me. It’s like you’re punishing players for having a great arm, speed etc.

He doesn't know anything about basketball. The goof has a bias against James.

People forget how good Ron Harper was before he came to Chicago. He was a Long great defending guard who basically averaged like 20/5/5 for most of his career prior to Chicago.

Yer bringing up Ron Harper. hahaha. He came to the bulls maybe a little past his prime at 31 years old and in 5 seasons put up such gaudy numbers as 8 points 3 rebs and 2 assists per game. He never even made an all star team when he was in his prime.

You’re also severely underrating how insanely athletic Jordan thebdude literally randomly decides to be a pro baseball player lol.

Yeah let's just pretend like Jordan couldn't do things like dunk from the free throw line. Like he accomplished everything he did through hard work alone. He's one of the best athletes to ever walk the earth lol.

I have been saying this since Pruitt became coach. There are some holes. But IMO, development was a problem with the former staff. We have talent at most position groups. There are 4-5 stars littered down the roster.

I’m really excited for fall camp and the season to start. Just ready to see some real coaching, and I’m convinced that’s exactly what we will see.

Yep. I just don’t believe they were all busts.

Sure, but Jordan is better at everything else. Nobody is arguing Curry is the goat, except at shooting, which he is.

But Lebron makes his living driving the lane and either getting fouled or whining about not getting fouled. While he can do other things well, that’s where he excels. And why does he excel there? Because he’s an athletic freak. He isn’t as good as Jordan. Imagine MJ with Lebron’s body. Would’ve been absurd. Lebron isn’t as good or talented tho.

You know Michael Jordan wasn't exactly a great shooter, right? So how do you think he got all those points? He drove to the paint, like Lebron, on the regular and lived at the stripe. They're both athletic freaks. In fact, Jordan was probably the better athlete.

He has two buzzer beaters this post-season alone. Both of which were ridiculous shots. Who is more clutch than LeBron at the moment?

Don't say Durant? Dude passed up a game-tying 3 just last night to Klay.

Lebron has hit more game winners than Jordan if I'm not mistaken. He's also had more game winners in the playoffs. Doesn't fit the narrative on here though.

Jordan developed probably the best fade away jumper of all time and had a way better post up game. Their 3 point shooting was pretty much the same Jordan took less of them and instead developed an insane midrange game.
