Chryst can't run, so by default, since he doesn't have that tool, yes... he has less potential...

He's money on short and mid-range less than 25 yards... and he has experience in big games... he's good at reading the line of scrimmage for audibles, making 2nd and 3rd reads, and knows when to check down...

Can JG run a more explosive offense if he plays to his full potential? Yes.

Is Chryst the best QB on the roster if we play tomorrow? Most likely... it isn't going to be pulling teeth... it'll be more like watching Alabama's offense with McCarron before his Senior season... except with a possibly terrible o-line pending Trey Smith's evaluation if none of the unprovens can step up

If Chryst is the QB, I am investing in Novocaine for VolNation..

I think he has a higher upside that Chryst. I think if Chryst becomes our starter, it is because JG is under-performing and we will not be as good as we could be at that point.

Our offense was completely broken last year. We have a first time HC who doesn’t seem likely to influence the offense much. We have a first time OC and very few proven entities

That doesn’t scare you?

I think there were 7 wins on the schedule last year with an abysmal HC who was minimally invested and I think there are 7 wins on the schedule with a much better coaching staff this year. There's not much about this year's team that resembles last year's team-- and that's a very good thing.

D4H is a blithering idiot..But Josh Dobbs could have legitimately been a Heisman winner on a great team with a great coaching staff. The guy was a preternaturally gifted runner.
