We don’t have near enough in the trenches for me to be confident in more than 6 wins. Our secondary is extremely unknown to bad other than Nigel Warrior. Not all of these guys are going to go from bad to good with better coaching. Everyone thought Tyler Byrd would excel with different coaches and he can’t even get settled in at a position.

Sigh...yeah...I got that...but that's not how you phrased your statement.

When you say "Take Manning off our team and we win a title. Take dobbs off and we have the worst season in school history" it's pretty easy to make the conclusion I made.

Maybe phrase it a little better if you're trying to make a different point...

I understand people think we have talent and that Pruitt can unlock it, but I think it’s a case of a bad apple that spoiled the whole bunch (Butch being the bad apple).

Ain’t nothing you can do with rotten apples.

I’d love to be wrong though

It is a team sport, but it also does matter what you do in the clutch. I have always said if Peyton had NE’s defenses, then he would have won more Super Bowls.

That said, Dobbs did have some disappointing finishes. Clausen beat Bama 51-43 in 5 OT’s. 4th and 19.

Byrd's pretty much settled in at WR.

Valid points. I'm in the boat of we have talent but does it fit and is it too late to repair some of the guys needed this year. We shall see.

Saban’s Process is another way of doing it. Did I say having a great QB is the ONLY way? We obviously needed another method since Dobbs didn’t draw.

I know this is an unpopular take, but I feel the same way about Tyler Bray.

Would’ve loved to see what Kiffin and Bray could’ve accomplished at UT (hell, I would’ve loved to see what Bray could’ve done under half-decent coaches)

Mostly By the time a college qb pops and is established. A recruit really only has like a year or two to play with them then they are gone to the nfl.

I’m sure Clemson is pushing Trevor lawerence to recruits but still.

Top QB list:

Manning- one of the greatest Qbs to ever play the game (no debate)

Shuler- Rifle arm and very fast, before his time. If he played his Senior year, he may have won the heisman.

Then the list can be debated.

Dobbs- Elite athlete, average passer

Clausen- Great game manager, elite weapons in 2001, struggled in 2002, very solid in 2003 on an average team.

Ainge- abysmal sophomore season, injury in 2006 may have cost us a title shot. Great in 2007 with very few weapons.

Tee- Average Qb with elite talent surrounding him.

Kelly- Average Qb with incredible receivers and strong running game.

Robinson and Holloway were before my time.
