Lol doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results if the definition of insanity.

Keep trotting JG out there and keep losing games you should win. It’s time to change something up. Our passing offense is limited to 90% WR screens, flats, and drags. South Carolina finally caught onto it and dared him to do something else and he couldn’t.
But he played well enough to win. We sustained drives well into the 3rd doing that. The defense played like garbage against the run all night. Ultimately that’s what lost us the game. Rico dowdle got a first down every time he touched the ball

To lose a 21-9 lead will haunt this team. I dont think Pruitt gets another SEC win. Yesterday was just disastrous.

Disappointing, yes. Frustrating, yes. Disastrous/Catastrophic/Cataclysmic/Something that would negatively affect the mindset of this team the rest of the way, absolutely not.

Gotta say, big difference in coming into a pressure situation where we have to win 2 of our remaining 3 conference games, and playing in relief after already being down 35 into the third quarter.

KC did play well against Bama, but he also played relatively poorly against the likes of ETSU and UTEP.

It’s still bama dude. I’m just saying what’s it going to hurt at this point?

The first part here is nothing but speculation. You've no idea how much the offense has or hasn't been dumbed down. It actually seemed like we opened the playbook up more than we have all season and they trusted JG with some more RPOs than they have in previous games.

The bolded part is kind of disingenuous, too. We had two drives in the last 20 minutes of the game. We got 40 yards and got into position for a long FG on one of them. A false start put us into a bad position on the second one. USCe didn't really do anything special or out-adjust us on those drives. They just made fewer mistakes than we did.

Stats are stubborn things, Darth. Go take a look at drive by drive and play by play including the clock on ESPN's box score. They made 40 yards on 12 plays and 22 yards in 10 plays on the last two drives. That's less than 4 yards per play on the first one and a little over 2 on the second. Add in a few plays of the drive in the third quarter with the FG. Our guys scored 3 points and had approximately 90 yards of offense in the final 20 minutes. JG averaged 5.3 yards passing per catch for the whole game. The previous 40 minutes there was over 260 yards and 21 points on O. It's just factual. USCe played better on both sides of the ball in the final 20 minutes. Helton had no answer to it.

I do know how much they dumbed down the offense and you do as well if you will be honest about it, or should I say "disingenuous"? How many back shoulders that bailed them out against Auburn did they throw when JG was 8/8? How many deep crosses to Byrd and others did they throw, posts, Chandler down the seam or wheel routes, etc.? They didn't trust the O-line to protect even in max pro and they knew JG held the ball too long, which he continued to do. By going with the screen game, shallow crosses, stops, hooks they stretched the D and gave him options on either side to make a decision quickly. So you don't think Will Muschamp knew what that was all about? They tightened down on it in the second half and we lost the game because we could not score any more and they were making a mockery of our D.

How do you know he is our best option? KC looked okay when he came in against bama when JG couldn’t do anything? Like I’ve said before KC May come in and totally peterman the bed but at this point it’s worth a shot.

Uh... because he's been the starter all year and KC doesn't touch the field?

Because Coach Pruitt and Coach Helton know this team far better than you or I do, and their actions indicate as such.

That's the reality of it. You can piss and moan about this all you want but the facts remain.

I think it's more like wishing the light will come on . We don't know what to expect from our other QBS for next year. JG may never get it but I sure wish he would. He has the arm just no pocket presents .

I'm with you on that one. I know the coaches want him to get it because they need an experienced good transition QB going into next season. But at some point, the coaches have to suck it up and move on.

Exactly.... we made Rico Dowdle or whatever the hell his name is, look like Adrian Peterson out there.

Defense gave up 240 yards rushing and spent the better part of the game getting bowled over.

They make one stop..... (or if the refs didn't f*** us out of that goal line fumble) and we do win the game.

So by your logic, you never question who the coaching staff plays. Have you complained about the play of any other players at other positions? If not, carry on. If you have, try different logic.

I don’t question it when the starter hasn’t been playing bad, hasn’t directly cost us a game. And I don’t question it when the guy people want to replace him with was bad at his last school against weaker competition and his own coach asked him to leave.

Mmmm’kay?

BS

Nobody who doesn’t have access to the coaches and game planning knows whether they’re “dumbing things down” for JG or whether they’re just trying to call plays we can execute somewhat regularly with a patchy OL.

It is disingenuous to suggest you do know. None of us know what a Tyson Helton offense even looks like yet because it’s been obvious this year that he’s struggled a bit in adapting to what he has to work with. There’s no point of reference for what this offense is or isn’t other than the 8 games we’ve seen.

We had the ball 4 times in the second half. We got 10 points the first 2 drives and had a chance to get 3 more on the 3rd.

Emphasizing the quick game is something people have been begging for them to do all season. It worked most of the night. It didn’t make for a pretty stat line, but it kept the chains moving and the defense off the field for the most part. Even those last two drives kept the clock moving. How many points would USCe have scored if we hadn’t done that?

We had a good gameplan offensively last night. I don’t know that this offensive unit is able of doing much more than they did last night unless the opposing D has some big busts or Palmer can come down with one of those deep balls.

That was a big hit on Chandler.

I was watching the game with my seven year old daughter at that point, and she commented something like "They should make a rule against players hitting other players like that." I replied that there actually is a rule against that, it's called targeting.

You talk like KC is a total dumbass and hasn't improved at all since he played at Stanford. How do we know what he can do if he doesn't play?

It's like your boss giving you a performance review based on what you did a year or two ago. I hope to hell you don't supervise anyone on whatever job you have.

There are no facts? You’re saying be a blind sheep sheep to a 1st year defensive minded head coach and 1st year OC who’s only other time as an OC was under Brohm who calls plays most of the time.

We’re always willing to try other people and find other help at other position but when someone mentions a QB change it’s looked at as treason.

I don't y think people are being as hyper critical as some of you think. I have not completely bought in, either. I see some positive signs but in the end, we need to win these games. We got outscored 18-3 down the stretch. We have to finish better than that. I think we're moving in the right direction but the staff needs to manage the game better. Hopefully that improves with some experience. I just think more people are taking a wait and see attitude after being burned with the last three hires. Nothing wrong with that.

We we're really bad last year, we could have easily just won 2 games. I know some will say should have won 6 . On top of the players we lost last year and new schemes and coaching. We got to wait 2 recurring cycles before we know what to expect from our coaches.

I have a hard time drawing long term conclusions in year 1. The collapse yesterday was easy to explain as simply wearing down because of a lack of depth, and frankly talent, along the defensive line. You could give Nick Saban our DL and I’m not sure you’d see much better results.

I’m fully supportive of Pruitt. I used to think you need to pull the trigger quickly if you have doubts so you can move on to the next coach, but I don’t think that works for us. The roster is a mess and this will obscure the results for anyone we get. It takes longer at Tennessee to build a good roster than it does at other top programs. All new coaches need 5 or 6 years unless they are clear bombs like Dooley.

Butch got the right amount of time and now we just need to give Pruitt enough time.
