A few pages back some were saying they hoped UK would upset UGA, so that we could beat them next week. We probably don’t want them to beat Georgia. If they do, the SEC will make sure the refs favor Uk in our game to protect them and keep them with one loss. The reason is that they need a 1 loss East champ to play an unbeaten Bama, just in case the unthinkable happens, and Bama loses to the East champ. That way the SEC would prob get 2 teams into the playoff, especially the SEC’s darling, Bama. Book it. We need UK to lose and be out of the picture, so that we will hopefully get favoritism to win and help get to a bowl.

No. I didn't miss it all. I just don't agree with him.
Apparently not, unless you agree with the sentiment that he is disagreeing with:
Again, I get the disappointment in not closing the deal with a 12 point lead in the third quarter. What I don’t get is people looking at a double-digit underdog losing on the road and somehow feeling that has provided immutable proof that this staff isn’t the answer.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, mine is if that’s yours, you’re extremely short sighted and prone to overreact.

Yea and i don’t see why. Pruitt has been so aggresive it was surprising for him to go super conservative
I bet you he is second guessing himself about it because he knows he went against his M.O. and it may have helped cost him. He will probably ever do that again. He doesn't strike me as a guy who won't learn from mistakes. This year is the year to make them...that's for sure.

Underdog or not, we should have won the game Saturday. We controlled the game until the fourth quarter. The defense couldnt get stops and we lost. I was upset with the loss. I still feel good about the future however, but to undermine losing is for losers. Anyone who hates losing has every right to be upset about Saturday. And that's just how it is.

Using Rob Lewis' logic, we shouldn't expect to win another SEC game this year-- because the Vols will be underdogs in all three of them and we're a road dog at Vandy. So according to Rob, we should expect to go 4-8 and be content, because that's what we're "supposed to" do. Or maybe he thinks we should be thrilled because we got a "large upset" at Auburn to save us from going 3-9, like we were "supposed to" do.

I always enjoy your posts, but I think he was just saying the circumstances created a situation where it would have been a surprise win. USC having an off week, the announcement that Trey is out the week of, and the fact that USC was a double digit favorite at home (which we shouldn't be against Mizzou or Vandy) were all going against us. My guess is if you asked him about Mizzou or Vandy, he would say we have a much better shot at beating them. JMO.

We were 3-7 on third downs that were 6+, 8-9 on all other third downs

But yes, playing for 4th and short when he had already made up his mind he was going for it is so horrible. Pruitt will learn, first time HC, mistakes will happen. Thank God some of y’all didn’t get into coaching
What's your record coach know-it-all?

The subtext is UT fans shouldn't be disappointed with losing a game the Vols weren't favored to win, that beating SCAR would have been a large upset and the fan reaction to losing the game is over-the-top. I agree that judging our staff on one loss is over-the-top... but I haven't heard or seen anybody make the claim that this staff isn't right for the job because of this loss. If you don't see that, fair enough.

I was surprised, especially after SC called timeout and then we got a first down on the next play.

I think he’s attempting to stave off suicides for real stupid reasons. He’s not proposed happiness at blowing a 12 point lead...just keeping it grounded that we had a 12 point lead on a 9 point favorite.

We are all upset and should be. That's rational. What is irrational is wanting to fire coaches at this point after a 3-point loss on the road as a 10-pt. dog.

It shouldn't have been a surprise win at all. We beat Auburn OTR and Auburn is probably a better team than SCAR, which had been struggling. We should have won that game, even with the egregious calls and no-calls. I don't see why so many UT fans want to tiptoe around being mad at a loss. We should be mad as hell, the players should be mad as hell and the coaches should be mad as hell about blowing a lead and finding a way to lose. Get mad, then channel that anger into action. None of which says anything about firing anybody or putting blame on any one position group.
