I responded to what he wrote, and I think his message was broader than what you intuit, but that's my opinion. Yours differs. Now we've all exercised our First Amendment rights, so I'll just leave it at that.
And the impatience factor. UT made a change so optimism abounds...Pruitt became the coach essentially overnight, so the expectation is wins and losses will change just as quickly.I think its the fear deep down in their souls that they have been down this same road 3 times before...
Yet, he wrote, "What I don’t get is people looking at a double-digit underdog losing on the road and somehow feeling that has provided immutable proof that this staff isn’t the answer. "
Then, you stated that no one is calling for the staff to be fired. Obviously, they are, or Rob probably wouldn't have written the above language. His wording was conditioned by what the response has been.
I actually don't disagree with what you stated, but it just appears that you didn't see why Rob wrote what he did.
Seeing all the hate for sophomore JG makes me think back to Dobbs as a sophomore.
80% of the board thought he would never do anything, and truth be told, his passing was not excellent at that time.
I wonder if JG has any time to develop in his weaknesses![]()
Reality is our team should not have beat their team especially at their stadium after us coming off AL, and them coming off a bye week. Getting upset about us not doing what we should not have done is a waste of time. SC should be upset they barely beat us.Reality is that it’s hard to make an argument that Saturday night was a moral victory regardless of the touchdown line. I think it’s pretty well implied that a moral victory means there is some sense of satisfaction after a loss. I felt that way after UGA in 2013 and Bama in 2015. To me, Saturday’s loss was the least satisfying, most disappointing loss since Florida last year. If you have a differing emotion on it, then good for you.
Not really seeing much, if any, “fire the coach” in here. I don’t FF though.
i know it's a sin to talk about the FF over here...but it's been a full on meltdown over there regarding the prospects of Pruitt's future at TN based the loss saturday.RL seems to be throwing a strawman out there to me. I’m sure there are people who want coaches fired, but I haven’t really seen any. I’m not going looking for them, but wanting anyone fired right now is as silly as someone’s strategy to go ahead and give them an extension and raise.
He’s not perfect. Those are valid points.
However, some things I’d like to point out. We can all agree the offensive line has been a hindrance to him so far this year. And we can all agree the offense has not been designed to accentuate his strengths. It has gotten better recently, but on the whole it has still not done him any favors. We’ve also played 5 very good defenses in Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and West Virginia.
Given all that, he’s still #4 in passing yards per attempt and passing efficiency in the SEC.

Reality is the way the team was playing they should've whipped they azz.
