Missouri would disagree. Heavy influence can certainly help determine a winner. Y’all are blind and naive, if you don’t think that things going on with the officiating is just due to them being bad refs. If that is the case, they would be fired. They missed more than 1 critical call, but I do agree that refs don't determine who wins and loses.
Television replays can seemingly show 12 different camera angles at 10 different speeds and do all that before the teams line up for the next play from scrimmage. As a result, we see more and more "missed" calls and draw the conclusion the quality of officiating is at an all-time low or something nefarious is going on.You're right....we did not have a perfectly called game or perfect execution by the players, but anyone saying the refs didn't have an effect on the outcome is focusing only on our team. SC had as many mistakes and bad play calls. No one has a perfect game ever.
If this were the case, there likely would have been some kind of smoke coming from somewhere in the media about it by now.Don't agree when you look at where we would be if JG transferred next year, they can read the tea leaves and even though Chryst might would win us a game or two more this year it doesn't amount to what JG will get us next year if he is here.
I’m no techie by any stretch but it seems to happen to me due to the ads that populate behind the keyboard on an iPhone. Like, as I’m typing, the typeface will start to lag, and in the middle of typing the keyboard will drop entirely. It seems like a purposeful glitch that makes you click the ad before you realize what’s happened.I just made another change. Let me know if you notice a difference. I’m trying random things hoping to get a clue.
Saw where it showed Nebraska has the #76 schedule and only has 2 wins. Wonder how many wins UT has with that schedule?
That was my first though so I disabled all ads for a day and a half and it didn’t seem to solve the issue.I’m no techie by any stretch but it seems to happen to me due to the ads that populate behind the keyboard on an iPhone. Using Rob Lewis' logic, we shouldn't expect to win another SEC game this year-- because the Vols will be underdogs in all three of them and we're a road dog at Vandy. So according to Rob, we should expect to go 4-8 and be content, because that's what we're "supposed to" do. Or maybe he thinks we should be thrilled because we got a "large upset" at Auburn to save us from going 3-9, like we were "supposed to" do.
But They arent the reason TN lost. Letting Scar run wild. Dropped passes. JJ celebration. Callaway not being smart enough to walk away. I could keep going on but TN made too many miscues to win.
I'm not a JG hater. Let's get that out of the way first. But your theory is putting a lot of trust in the mindset of a 19 or 20 y/o kid (which if they are playing Division I football at a power 5 school have been told how great they are since age 4). And a lot of faith in the same media that thought Brohm was our next coach haha.If this were the case, there likely would have been some kind of smoke coming from somewhere in the media about it by now.
Instead, pretty much everybody in the media has been pretty consistent in saying that from everything they’ve seen and heard there’s been nothing to make them believe that the team or the staff has any faith that KC gives them a better chance to win.
The whole JG transferring thing isnt necessarily a valid assumption anyway. He knows he’s the likely starter next season no matter what, he’s proven he cares about being the QB at Tennessee, and it’s obvious that he’s been given a fair shake this season. He’s also seen 2 QBs first hand who transferred and ended up as backups to QBs they’d assumed had been worse. I’m not sure it’s a lock that he’d jump to go play for his 4th new OC and QB coach in 4 years if the coaches switched to KC at this point.

There is a whole lot the media doesn't know. I know for a fact that certain WR's aren't too keen on JG from a trust level. Now when he performs like he did at Auburn those things are a lot quieter. If he costs us a game, those things may get more exposure. I personally don't think JG has cost us a game this year. At least not all the blame could go on him.
I'm not saying it's wrong for Pruitt to consider that into his decision either. It's not like starting KC can win us the SEC East and starting JG would get us to 4-8 or 5-7. So my opinion is he'd be a fool not to consider how it affects the program down the road.

I think the whole JG holding onto the ball too long deal is being way overplayed. That was a huge issue for him last season but it's not been nearly the same this season.. Yes, he could take fewer hits but he's standing in the pocket knowing full well he'll take the hit in order to make those plays. I can't really fault him for that. When it's a passing play he's giving himself and his receiver time even if that means sacrificing his body.
As for getting faster... It's a new offense for him and he only had about half a season of experience as a starter coming into this season. The speed of knowing where your receivers are and getting it out faster will come with more familiarity with the system. There's really no shortcut to that unless you subscribe to CBJ's mental reps being a super-curative.
At any rate, I think it's pointless to argue over JG. He's our starter and is very likely our starter next season. He's not what cost us that game (and boy, do I remember typing those exact same words when Dobbs was a sophomore).
Anyone who is actually blaming the loss on the refs doesn't understand sports at all. They missed 1 call okay. What about TK jr getting burned over the top to help set up for that moment. What about Palmers drops. What about Pruitt not trying to score before half. How about the defense giving up 240 rush yards. Pruitt was outcoached on his side of the ball. USCjr went to 11 personnel and we were lost. This is on,UT way mor than it is on the refs
Well..... It's not an Uber driver I'll give you that.Because we should always allow WRs to dictate things... Some of us remember what happened when Kelly Washington had a lot of say. But since you know this for a fact, go ahead and lay it on us. Who is complaining and what are your sources? I'm genuinely curious.
Agreed. In one of the few 3rd down fails on Saturday USCe Blitzed and our OL did a great job of switching off guys to pick it up. JG got rid of it too quickly hitting I think Calloway short of the yardage. It was one time I thought he should have held on longer because the OL picked it up great

I'm not trying to be rude. But if you do any research whatsoever you can figure out the answers to your questions. Additionally, its a message board brother. You can choose to believe it or not. I personally don't care. There are others on here that know me and know that I'm not lying about anything. That being said it's not my place to air the dirty laundry of a 20 yo kid on the team on a message board. If you think every player in that locker room are best friends and hangout all the time you're very mistaken. It's not like it's insider info as to a coach that was going to accept a position here or anything like that. I'm not some high dollar donor that has access to the AD or staff. I'm a normal guy with friends that are normal who may have family members on the team. I've been to several practices, and watched the media leave after the first 10 minutes. I'm not claiming to know "where the bones are buried".
I think the college game is way to short especially if we're winning. Wish on dead ball out of bounds, incomplete pass clock not start until snap.Television replays can seemingly show 12 different camera angles at 10 different speeds and do all that before the teams line up for the next play from scrimmage. Instant replay is truly a double-edged sword. It's great to have the technology to review great plays or questionable calls, but we're seeing too much of it and I think it takes a lot away from the game...it certainly slows the tempo of the sport down.
When you think of all the commercials, official reviews and coaches' challenges in the NFL, the sport has almost become unwatchable.
