The whole JG vs KC argument is pointless and a wash at this point. We all have our sides and it’s not going to change. The bigger question is if you feel comfortable going into next year with JG as your starter. In hopes of getting to realistically probably 7-5 or 8-4.
No doubt about it

Yeah they can’t review a play if it’s been called dead. Bad luck for us there.

I do think he probably should have used a TO to get them to take a look at the one passing TD that was bobbled as well as the one late against Auburn, though.
You can’t if the play was ruled dead because of foward progress. They ruled it dead because he was down and UT players started running toward the end zone. Pruitt said the refs ruled him down

Can you imagine crap storm this site would have if KC played in the next game and outplayed JG? I don't think Pruitt is gonna let that happen. I really don't see why KC came here. The deck was stacked against him from day one. If he won the starting job, JG may have transferred and we would have been screwed next year. Pruitt had to put him in the Alabama game and he really looked good. It's just all speculation now because KC is not gonna get any meaningful snaps unless JG gets hurt.

That's funny. There were many fans who were sure that the only reason KC came here was because he was pretty much promised the starting job. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come and we wouldn't have used a ship on him they said.

For anyone that cares, JG has started 14 games in his career. Here’s his total stats: 289 Attempts, 186 Completions, 64%, 2,282 Yards, 7.8 YA, 12 YC, 11 TD’s, 4 INT’s. Averaging a TD every 26 attempts, an INT every 72 attempts.
What’s his % beyond ten yards. He almost threw 40 times and hand 200 yards

No they can't. The timeout only gives the refs more time to look at the play but the refs never intended to look at that play. Probably ever again
Bingo! Pruitt could’ve used all three of his timeouts, and they were never going to review that play. If the script had been flipped, you can guarantee that play would’ve been reviewed before the huddle would’ve been broken.

I said this right after the coaching search: the goodwill of this fanbase has been used up. It's not fair to Pruitt and staff, but it is what it is.
He gets the talented players and wins with them? “Good will of the fans” will be arbitrary.

Y'all, warning for the incoming post. I was gonna answer Hank's post:

The bigger question is if you feel comfortable going into next year with JG as your starter.

And then I got onto a tangent. Short answer is I've been in the JG camp all year, but I won't be truly comfortable with a QB until we have a decent OL. Then I got curious as to when we could maybe start to expect decent OL play.

Rushing yards, sacks, hits, wins?
He was sacked 27 times last year, took 28 Hits, and was hurried on 36 throws. Excluding sacks he ran for 155 yards on 38 carries (4.1 YPC). This year he’s been sacked 12 times, 18 hits, 15 times hurried on throws. 47 yards on 11 carries (4.3 YPC)

I'm stuck at work and all deadlines have been met, so here goes..

History lesson:

In 2010, Fulton, James, and Stone came in. In 2011, we signed Tiny, Marcus Jackson, and Alex Bullard transferred in from ND. Outside of Dallas Thomas, Jerrod Shaw, and Cody Pope (did he play?), these were wholesale changes to the OL.

With 2009 being somewhat of a 'control' year, we saw our RushO place 54th nationally at 157rypg. We placed 31st nationally with 18 sacks allowed on the year.

Then new coaches, and new players.

2010: start at least James and Stone, maybe Fulton too, along with Schofield? RushO: 105th (109rypg); SckAllwd: 116th (41)

2011: Tiny comes in at LT, Jackson and Bullard bolster depth, get another year for those 2010 freshmen. RushO: 116th (90rypg); SckAllwd: 34th (18)

2012: 2-deep is solidified. Major turn in the right direction. RushO: 62nd (160rypg); SckAllwd: 3rd (8)

2013: Same solid OL: Tiny, James, Bullard, Fulton, and Pair.. New system though, losses at QB and skill positions.. Cyclical dip, but still very serviceable.
RushO: 44th (188rypg); SckAllwd: 12th (15)

So as a new staff (with competent offensive coaching at least) got their players signed starting in 2010, the OL took their lumps in Year 1, got better in pass protection Year 2, and really came together in Year 3.

Moving forward with this staff, we're taking a full string of linemen this year, maybe more. If we get Wanya AND Wright, they could start on Day 1 somewhere along the line. We still have pieces that I believe in-- Ryan Johnson and Drew Richmond, specifically. Kennedy, Chance, and surely someone else to round out the rest of the 8-deep. Plus a whole lot of experience and an extra off-season of S&C for the likes of Jahmir, Jerome, Niehaus, and Tatum.

Right now we're 100th nationally in Rush Offense and well, you see how dirty JG's jersey is every game. Maybe under this staff, the run game will take priority over pass-pro. Time will tell.. but I think based off of recent history (as flawed as that may be), 2020 may be the year big strides are made. Guarantano's senior season, actually!
