No, I mean Clay. They are 4-4, and likely to lose another one. he just fired his OL coach and took over play calling. Basically he's in hail mary mode trying to save his job. If USC makes a move, I think there is a decent chance the Vols would try and find a spot for him on the staff. I think Tee is out at USC after this year either way, but I don't think it's likely he would find a spot on the staff here.
Actually, I was attempting to make a joke since both those fan bases would do damn near anything at this point...especially since both teams aren't done losing this year. Don't think there's any chance C Helton will come her for anything less than an OC position and that would send his brother packing.

I know Tee is somewhat of a legend here, but outside of his recruiting, has he demonstrated he could be a successful OC?

I feel confident saying that playcallimg is the best area a inexperienced coach can improve in. Hopefully we are seeing him progress at a high rate

Once Guarantano gained their trust the playcalling became more open. I think not wanting to put too much at him at once and letting him and team grow in scheme is what we are seeing. Pruitt is of the mindset that you don't move to the next install until the initial install is like riding a bike.

Scheme has never been the problem. Player ability and capability has been

Let me throw this out there: Could you imagine how pissed the fan base would be if we had to rally and beat a 3-4 SEC team at home by three points, a team that went winless in the SEC last year...in year three of Pruitt's tenure?
This is your best post ever. Bout time. Good work.

What about in 2020 though? With Pruitt in his third season and 3 recruiting classes under his belt against let's say a Mel Tucker led South Carolna team that fired Muschamp in '19 after an 0-8 SEC record?
I’m going to sing Rocky Top at top of my lungs for winning an SEC road game against a division foe.

I remember complaining about barely beating Vandy with Peyton Manning. It happens. We’ve been through hell and back and back and back.

Winning is good

Losing is bad

What is lost is the fact people are even upset should make them realize things are changing. We have a coaching staff that has us believing we can win games. I had zero hope last yr as the season wore on. I knew we couldn't win and it was brutal product to watch.

Now it's like Pruitt said at beginning of season. His goal was that at the end of the day fans liked the product on the field and the other team knew they were in a fight and didn't want to play us again. I'd say he is accomplishing that outside of Bama game but that is just because Bama is killing everyone. Auburn and South Carolina damn well knew they were in a fight.

I can buy that

How about those 2 QB sneaks Saturday?

Looked good

Yep. Also starting to wonder if Jahmir is becoming a bigger factor than we thought. Our run game was doing the same things vs auburn that we did vs Carolina until jahmir got hurt. Then magically it works again when he is back. Also how about drew Richmond? Proud of that kid for sticking in there and getting better despite fan talk

actually that already happened....sort of. in 2016. Muschamp beat Butch Jones in his first year, while butch was in his 4th.

i don't recall us responding very well to that.

I mean let's think about this for a second...we are actually missing Kongbo and Abernathy.

Richmond all of sudden our best OL. Alexis our best DL. Phillips making big plays. 2 WRs becoming studs at CB. Buchanon becoming reliable at Star.

Wtf is happening? Are we developing football players again? Amazing some idiots think this staff can't coach because they are looking at a record

Yes we are. I am convinced we win if 22 plays last week

So fire Muschamp? They can do better anyway.

agreed....i had many of the same thoughts. which is why it's frustrating to see some of the whining.

no body likes losing.

but you're spot on....the improvement is there, and you can see it tangibly pay off for individuals like these week to week.

i was ready to bench Richmond 3 weeks ago.

but you see him, and other guys like you mentioned show a lot of progress, in a short amount of time...and it does give you some hope for the future, and maybe the future is a little closer than we might think given some of the development we've arleady seen in year one....who knows what can take place with that full 2nd year coming, and a good bit of the roster returning, and the first real shot of the Pruitt kids coming in.........

To be fair, some of these guys may not be cancerous, but just not good enough.

Would seem to be the case. I just looked at our roster and came up with 12 sophmores who never see the field. Some I had forgotten were even on the team (Terrel Bailey, Cheyenne Labruzza anyone?) Wouldn't be shocked if any or all of them left.

Then if you're a junior.... what do you do? If you're Tyler Byrd for example.. you stick around despite never really getting thrown the ball?

We scoffed at it last year but richmond did
At least consider declaring last year. It wouldn't be that big of a stretch this time. I hope he doesn't.
