But Applewhite never gave Simms an opening. Brown looked for a chance during Simms freshman season to shoehorn him in and would have given him the job outright but Applewhite never slipped. Brown disregarded that and named Simms the starter the following season. Doesn’t resemble Saban starting and almost exclusively playing Hurts until the last half of the last game for all the marbles, in the least.Does anybody here remember the Chris Simms / Major Applewhite situation at Texas? The Tua / Hurts situation feels very similar to me, in some of the same uncomfortable ways. Tua is a much better QB than Simms — but — unseating a very successful incumbent in favor of a freshman who was promised playing time looks all too familiar. Again, the circumstances are different. But it sure feels similar.
I don't have a problem with you either brother. I'll admit I got irritated but that's on me. I'm not going to name my source but I will tell you I'm friends with one of our WRs dad. I don't want to air anyone's dirty laundry because they are college kids doing the best they can. I do know that there has been a long standing rub between JG and others on the team. I also believe it because I've been at practices. Been in very close proximity and have heard some of it my self.I can be full of myself, at times. I don't have a problem with you. I called you out because you made a bold statement. You seem like you're a pretty good dude, so I will just say I hope we finish 8-5 and WTFA for the rest of they year. GBO!!
Yea you’re right coaches should never get any blame for losses. After all, they aren’t on the field am I right?![]()

So a HC is free from receiving any criticism unless we lose to a far inferior team? Ok got it.Pruitt got beat by three on the road to a guy with a similiar, maybe a bit overall better roster, but a three year head start to implementation, development and S&C. I think bitching at him, and blaming him for this loss is asinine. If he gets beat by Charlotte, then you can bitch free from criticism from me.
Almighty Saban lost to Louisiana-Monroe freaking University in his first year...LM freakin U...I lived in crappabama then and that year the bubbagump f-tard army was saying the exact same dumb crap about him after that loss, that you are about Pruitt.
If Pruitt turns out to be half the head coach that Saban is...I and every sane Vol fan will be ecstatic.

I think he is just saying your a malcontent to bitch too much about losing this year.Using Rob Lewis' logic, we shouldn't expect to win another SEC game this year-- because the Vols will be underdogs in all three of them and we're a road dog at Vandy. So according to Rob, we should expect to go 4-8 and be content, because that's what we're "supposed to" do. Or maybe he thinks we should be thrilled because we got a "large upset" at Auburn to save us from going 3-9, like we were "supposed to" do.
Chryst is and has been one play away from starting all year, with this OL, he is absolutely a great pick up. It is absolutely amazing that JG has taken the beating he has and is still functioning. The dude is made out of rubber...it really is almost miraculous how tough and physically resilient he is.Sure - but the scholarships would have been available this year, not the last. Unless they counted Kennedy, London and Chryst toward last year. I’m not sure whether they did or didn’t.
But I’d rather have 3 four year projects than London or Chryst - two bench warmers. Kennedy was a good pick up - it’s just a shame we didn’t get to use him this year.
We are the best and worst fanbase in CFB...it is sad. And I include myself in that criticism. We are loyal, but sick of the embarrassment that is definitely not if our making. If I wasn't a Vol fan I'd think it was laughable that Vol fans are complaining about this QB starting while much of the rest of those watching are talking about how well he's playing. (A couple of questionable plays don't make a bad game or bad QB) And it would be hilarious to me that they're even discussing replacing this HC in the middle of his first year. But since I am Vol fan it's not funny at all. It's really sad.
You are going to be a VN legend if this turns out to happen..lol.I know I know call me crazy....I've got another story for you fine folks. All information is real (story information, statements may not end up being real)...I'm a christian for what it's worth.
I took an uber today (I live in Alabama) and the person who was driving has a cousin that is from Thompson Highschool where Tua's brother Taulia plays as a QB. His cousin plays on the O-line and is close to Taulia. Well, he told me that his cousin texted him recently and said Taulia is coming to Tennessee. Pruitt has a great relationship with him and visited him a lot during the summer. I could say more and go on, but those are the deets, take it for what it's worth. believe it or don't, I don't care. I'm all for the fun of rumors and rants whether they turn out to be true or not.
You can be reasonably certain you have made a dumbarse comment when Chiefturd likes it.Agreed. This fanbase lives in the past more than any other IMO. And the admins thrive on that. They'll keep rehashing 1998 and trotting out those guys for the next 40 years while we keep sliding further and further into irrelevance and the cellar of the SEC.
I appreciate you sharing what you can. I hope that rub does not carry over to the field too much. I like JG. I think he loves playing here and gives max effort.I don't have a problem with you either brother. I'll admit I got irritated but that's on me. I'm not a "know it all", large donating booster, or anything like that. Just am friends with a couple people and get to go to a few practices.
Update for those interested on my dad.
He's had a really good day. He slept really well last night. His mood has been much improved as has his breathing. He walked quite a bit today. He and I went for a walk and we got lost and it turned into a longer walk than we had planned. He worked with PT on the best ways to get up and down out of bed and a chair. He's been eating well. Dr. Said he was good to go home today but with having to deal with my mom, he thought it best he stay one more night. Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.
