They have to change up this targeting call next year, right?

They got to. Why can a RB lower his head and use it as a weapon but D-fense has to keep head up. I think it is good that players stop using the crown of their helmets but what when an O go decides to drop low when D player has already commited in air in his tackling.

So...you are Pruitt realizing that you don't have much to work with, and some of what you have doesn't want to play the way you want them to. You know you have to cut a dozen or so to maximize this year's class. How do you make that list? It can include anyone with eligibility after this year. Is it obvious to him from practice, or does he play them in games (cupcake and conference) to see who rises...or falls?

We let Auburn go to the east and Mizzou to the west. Auburn keeps Bama as a rival. Georgia can pick up Texas A&M. South Carolina can get Mizzou and we can take Arkansas.

Given where we are I honestly think that is much more of a competitive balance. Long term we would like that trade off very much.

Imagine in your mind’s eye us coming off that big win over Auburn to come home to play Arkansas... or 2016, us coming off that exciting road game at A&M to play Arkansas...

Instead we come home from games like that to get eviscerated by our one time rival in a game that shakes everyone’s confidence to the core and reduces us all to celebrating first downs on offense and forcing punts on defense like we’ve won the super bowl...
I would accept this plan or just do away with the "rivalry" game from the other division every year. Just play your division rivals and rotate the other teams home and home every two years. I don't care if our players don't get to visit Bryant-Denny in their careers or some other SEC West stadiums. If we got good enough, we would still see Alabama enough in Atlanta.

It was better this week. Some phone calls were made.

Maybe a little. But I specifically remember them showing the zebras for a while before showing AT on the targeting call. There were a couple others where I was trying to figure out what had just happened and no replay.

I said yesterday--- This season and the talent is squarely on Butch. I blame that idiot, and there's really no way around it. These are his players playing at the level he coached them up to... Pruitt and Co have had an uphill battle from day one with this roster.

The way some of these kids are playing, I seriously wonder how they got a scholly... 28 does not need to see the field again. He can hand out Gatorade with Bates...

I really think that if we can finish strong in recruiting we will definitely see a real change in how this team performs next year. The team mentality will be completely different. They will be much more enjoyable to watch.

If we give him time and everyone buys in, it may not take as long as people think. 2020 we will truly be competing with most, if not almost all of the teams on our schedule like we used to. F the intern.

Pruitt: We beat a good football team that, I think, we're pretty evenly matched against.

No. That’s an excuse for not having your team ready to play and having an awful offensive gameplan.

Pruitt's worst line of the year.

Teams are going to play unispired in games like this especially when the vibe is resting players all week.

A win is a win but he shouldn't have said this

They never showed the non fumble after the play

Shouldn't need some amazing gameplan to beat Charlotte. Looked to me like they wanted their guys to go man on man and win their matchups and they didn't. So they will have to go back to the stuff that worked vs Aub/SC again next wk. pretty clear this offense is different without Chandler and Jennings. Helton moves chandler all over and he makes people miss. Jennings is the chain mover.

Nobody comes out with some special gameplan for Charlotte. Get out of here with that mess.
We clearly thought we would be able to run it some. It was a bad game plan because we put up 192 total yards against a team that allowed UMASS to score 49. All of the offensive ineptitude was not because of play-calling or the gameplan, but both of those contributed to it.

The entire offense was horrible from OC down.

???? They are 4-5 this year. Not sure who they return, but it’s not nearly as competitive of a OOC P5 game that we have had to play.

They went on the road and won at Wisconsin. I’m not saying they are great but that’s a tough game especially where we are as a program.

There are about twelve 2016 & 2017 guys (8 offense, 4 defense) that aren't even playing this year (or playing sparingly due to injuries on defense). IMO they will probably be the first to leave, either voluntarily or not. Keep most of the 2018 guys that aren't playing this year & see how they develop by next fall.

If you score one offensive TD against Charlotte it’s a terrible game plan going into the game and you didn’t have your offense ready to play.

Exactly. I knew we would come out flat and it would be closer than the spread. But i thought after halftime come out and put together a couple good TD drives and go home like 27-10 or something.
