Hell no. Might be equal to Vandy, but KY and Mizzou have size and speed that we don’t have right now. NFL talent as well. Plus they have coaches that have been there for at least 3 years and recruited their guys.
Please don't forget strength these other teams didn't go without strength and conditioning their muscles are developed with maturity that gives them more muscle mass.

This is the difference at the moment.
It isn't talent. It's an established scheme and a mindset of winning (for Kentucky).

We need Kentucky to play with a hangover to win and I think they will.

We need Mizzu to play like they have in all of their SEC games expect Florida.

We need Vandy to be Vandy

2/3 is the line in the sand for this season.
And it’s about overcoming our loser mindset. I think a big problem this year is Pruitt not really knowing how to cope with a bunch of players that seemingly don’t like to play football.

Yep, we're bottom-tier right now and UGA is alone atop the East. Next year should get us back to the middle and where we land in the gridlock will tell how quickly we're progressing. Three recruiting classes should effectively churn the roster, so we should make a significant move in Year 3. We'll be playing mostly Pruitt guys next year and they'll be seasoned players/leaders in Year 3.
I completely disagree with you. Having to replace everyone on the D line next year. Possibly having 2 freshamn on the I line next year. Year 2 will be just as bad as year 1, it will be year 3 before we even go bowling and year 4 or 5 before we have a chance to beat UF and maybe have a shot with UGA

Can't draw a line in the sand but sure hope that happens. We got to play turnover free also. And no stupid penalties.

I agree with that a lot. It's much more so about that than talent imo. Winning is a mindset More than talent in games that aren't against playoff contenders. That's where an elite talented roster is a must

Lol at criticizing Gurantano or any offensive coaching this year. The OL played like that for years before Pruitt even got there, and it’s obvious that Jones didn’t know what he was doing at that position to the point that we are barely even D 1 level there. The HC, the OC, the QB, none of them can do much of anything without better OL play than what we are getting.

We’re not the only team with a bad offensive line. They played ok against Auburn and SC. But they weren’t good enough against Charlotte? Come on now.

UGA is playing 2/3 FR and SO this year. We'll be doing that next year. Pruitt is in full search and replace mode. He's going to scrub the roster and develop young talent. UGA is going to be good for the foreseeable future-- by Year 4, we should be just as good... assuming we've been able to recruit elite players from this year forward.
Yeah I think we're too far behind on the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball, to see championship level play in year 2 or 3.

Getting Kennedy back next year we'll help. I have doubts as to Smith's return...

To me that falls under the category of talent. Have to develop these players. Talent in high doesn’t mean much at this level

So...you are Pruitt realizing that you don't have much to work with, and some of what you have doesn't want to play the way you want them to. You know you have to cut a dozen or so to maximize this year's class. How do you make that list? It can include anyone with eligibility after this year. Is it obvious to him from practice, or does he play them in games (cupcake and conference) to see who rises...or falls?
Good point

This a great example of why many of us disagree on talent. We simple define it diffently

Talent for me means the ceiling a player has for his production. It has nothing to do with the actual production at present.

It’s obvious to me what the game plan was for Charlotte. Very different than Auburn or SC.

This game doesn’t bother me really at all. Sounds like I’m in the minority.

Then you'll have a chance to get good seats at a large discount.

That's an extremely pessimistic outlook. And it would cause rampant staff turnover. These coaches aren't going to stick around and bounce around the bottom of the conference for 5 years. They can recruit and develop players quicker than that-- and that's exactly what they plan to do.

It doesn’t really me either. What bothered me is Pruitt coming out and saying that these were two evenly matched team. That’s a Dooley style comment. Don’t tell me the team that went on the road and beat auburn and shouldve beat SC was evenly matched against Charlotte despite being 21 point favorites.

The offense wasn’t ready to play and the gameplan sucked. There is no way around it. You can point fingers at coaches and players but either way it was one of the most pathetic offensive performances that a TN team has put on the field.

I think you’re way overblowing this.

Coupling this with Pruitt’s halftime comments it’s obvious to me he’s calling out his team not making excuses. Now if CJP had a history (like Dooley or Jones as you referenced) of making excuses, I’d be more inclined to side with you. That’s not the case.

Maybe i am but even if that’s the case you have to be careful about constantly calling out your players.

said the same thing about Barnes and now he has the #6 ranked team in the country.

if hes honest with them behind closed doors then him saying it publically isn't harmful. He also praises them when they do well.

Problem is with the scholarship limitations it's difficult to turn over a roster quickly. Transfers and grad transfers counting against the 25 really hurts. I have no doubt Pruitt and company really believe that they can do it but it's a monumental task. I'll be more confident if this class ends up special which I think it can be. Like I said earlier, if GA continues to recruit at this level, it will be difficult to dethrone them anytime soon. Also, I don't think this staff is finalized. I expect some turnover after the season.

Worst OL in the SEC, especially with Trey Smith and Kennedy out, and I’m not sure anyone else is even close. Coaching was able to overcome that vs. Auburn and for a half vs. SC, but you can’t expect that every game.
