Looks to be the case. Helton was not going to be here next year. Pruitt and the Admin knew this. They had plenty of time to scout out names. Yet here we are because we are completely incompetent, again. Why do we waste our time and money...

So, let's say Freeze off the table for a moment and let's say that Drinkowitz is not an option either.

Who could it be besides Kitchens or Enos?

I do see where every party could be the ones holding out here. I've seen credible posters again and again tell us that we'll know something by tomorrow and I think that's where all regardless of PR machine, strategy, BOT approval or not, Freeze and Sexton getting as much $$$$$$ as they can, Pruitt wanting his guy, etc.

Sleep on it. We'll know something tomorrow.

We heard Freeze doesn’t have an offer. I’ll bet he and Pruitt had a talk (that’s been confirmed) and either Pruitt wasn’t totally sold or Freeze insisted on waiting to see what other jobs came open. I know we heard a lot of noise about UT being a “dream job” for him, but I’m more inclined to believe that that info was put out by Freeze’s guys to raise his stock a bit.

Also, it seems the assumed narrative today is that Lindsey went to Kansas because Pruitt offered the job to Freeze and gave Chip a “thanks but no thanks”, therefore the only holdup must be BOT issues. Hubbs’ info tonight says that Pruitt had cooled on him regardless.

Sorry for the essay, and I know it’s mostly speculation, but I wouldn’t be so quick to jump on the “burn the BOT” bandwagon just yet. I think it’s still Pruitt running his search based off of football decisions, but that’s just me. We were told by Hubbs from the start that this search might go on for a bit while Pruitt did his due diligence, and that’s what I’m seeing.

If that’s the case, then it’s on Pruitt. Freeze should have been vetted or approved by administration before talking to him. I don’t know anything, but that just doesn’t make sense, especially if he let Lindsey go.

Also, not sure I would say UT is a dream job for Freeze. But he did teach at a private school in Memphis, did sneak into Neyland Stadium on his honeymoon, and coached at Lambuth. I think he understands how successful UT can be with its history and resources.

I might be ok with it. Depends on who the guy is. It needs to be someone established, who can get the offense up to speed and help bring in some more talent on the offensive side of the ball.

Pruitt had to know the defense will regress next year due to experience and talent, the offense had to improve. We're going to need a really good mind.

I don't think he's a troll either. I just think he tries to act like he knows more than he really does. Jmo
