Longer than William Henry Harrison’s presidency. We've been at this for 42 days (Helton was announced as WKU HC on Nov 27). 6 weeks. A lot can happen in that window (aside from possibly finding an OC).
Things that happen in less than 42 days...
1. Jesus is victorious in the desert temptation.
2. The deluge of Noah's flood begins and ends.
3. Moses was on Mt Sinai getting the 10 Commandments that have influenced all of Judeo-Christian civilization for millennia.
4. A generally accepted period of time it takes to make or break a habit.
Just for conversation, what else could you accomplish in 42 days?
It's also a product of being successful. His coaches are highly sought after because of his program. You really think Butch went and worked as an intern at Alabama for the experience? He wanted that "Worked for Saban" on his resume. That's on him. He usually brings in experienced coaches who are just looking for the resume builder. Until he brings in some no names and grooms them, then this will keep happening. I hope he keeps the retread shop full go.
I'm hoping now that Clemson is going to be looked at as a dynasty at (or almost at) Bama's level that the same starts happening to them. I know people have pushed for Venables supposedly in the past, but if they push harder maybe he'll leave.I'm no Saban fan but he loses his coordinators almost every year. Sometimes both in the same year. We talk about continuity and how big of a factor it is. I wondered if it would ever catch up to him and I believe it did this year.

Spot on.
Regardless of your beliefs, this is the right answer no matter where you are geographically. I believe as Dabo and am very aware of the community environment in the SC highlands. There is a culture of some sort at every major school. The leaders, educators, students, and surrounding community create it. For the first time in over a decade there is an opportunity for to move back in that direction for us if the majority of the people will start rowing in the same direction for a change.
The football part of our return is underway and last night should have been an eye opener for every Vol fan no matter how well they understand the game. Saban's staff turnover has finally impacted them in a major way. Clemson/Dabo have that part figured out currently. If we could steal one of their co-OC's away, it would help. At least find an OC who runs a similar concept because the D is under control/development.
I wish Saban would fire Tosh and Pruitt could nab him...he sucks as a play caller, but he is an elite recruiter and position coach. His biggest issue this time was he didn't have a Pruitt to turn to. He had Smart for so long then easily was able to bring Pruitt in for a seamless transition and actually some improvement with tweaks Pruitt made to what Smart was doing. Pruitt was Kirby but with more X and O ability. Now you go to Tosh who will doesn't have play call experience. He had to promote him though because otherwise he was coming to TN with Pruitt.
