His biggest issue this time was he didn't have a Pruitt to turn to. He had Smart for so long then easily was able to bring Pruitt in for a seamless transition and actually some improvement with tweaks Pruitt made to what Smart was doing. Pruitt was Kirby but with more X and O ability. Now you go to Tosh who will doesn't have play call experience. He had to promote him though because otherwise he was coming to TN with Pruitt.
Yea. Would have liked to have seen that. In hindsight maybe he should have let Tosh go and found him an experienced defensive play caller. Maybe should have stlien Venables from Dabo. Made him an offer he could not refuse.

I always thought Dabo would naturally succeed Saban. I’m about 75% sure he stays put now.

He’s basically set at Clemson, and as you can see right now on Twitter... even Saban cannot follow himself and keep the fans happy
at least for the next 3 years with TL......after that, he may leave.

Spot on.

Regardless of your beliefs, this is the right answer no matter where you are geographically. I believe as Dabo and am very aware of the community environment in the SC highlands. There is a culture of some sort at every major school. The leaders, educators, students, and surrounding community create it. For the first time in over a decade there is an opportunity for to move back in that direction for us if the majority of the people will start rowing in the same direction for a change.

The football part of our return is underway and last night should have been an eye opener for every Vol fan no matter how well they understand the game. Saban's staff turnover has finally impacted them in a major way. Clemson/Dabo have that part figured out currently. If we could steal one of their co-OC's away, it would help. At least find an OC who runs a similar concept because the D is under control/development.
We had that for a short time crossing multiple sports with Fulmer, Pearl, and Pat. Good times.

Man, loved seeing Bama get spanked. Wanted Clemson to hang 50 on their ass.

Also I am not a SEC fan, all vol means the rest of the SEC can get beat on in bowl games. If UCF wasn't 100% bitch made I wouldn't have pulled for LSU even lol
I don't get the ucf hate. They get screwed by having arguably a top 5 team but getting treated like not even a top 15 team, and now people hate them because they use a little sarcasm and irony to campaign for more equitable treatment? That Frost team would have spanked Washington, I don't understand why everyone hates them instead of hating the 4 team system that doesn't allow these things to be decided on the field.

If Pruitt can just get us past the low and mid tier SEC, he can get this done. That has to be the goal right now..beating Mizzou, USC, UK and Vandy.

Reestablishing dominance over that group is the key to our comeback. Winning those games gets us to 8-9 wins every year and then getting the classes we need to compete at the NC level.

There are so many other holes in our roster.
Sure, but he's filling them as we speak. We need depth but our OL should be elite when Bailey is here with the guys he's bringing in. We have Taylor and Thompson already who played at an incredibly high level as freshmen and Pruitt is bringing in one of the top DB classes in the country. At LB he's added Crouch and JJP and still gonna add one or two more. Keyton is one of the top receivers in the country and he'll add more next year. The big question is the DL. He's got to bring in some big time DL next year.

No reason to choose a difficult path to the CFP every year instead of a super easy one. Did Clemson play a single ACC team that finished the season ranked? Maybe they did, but it's so easy for them to make the playoff every year, he'd be a fool to volunteer to play Auburn LSU aTm and the best team in the east every single year instead of playing a 5 loss Pitt team in the ACC title game.

Who did they beat? Lost to alabama, Florida, and Texas A&M. Other than Georgia, they really beat no one. I realize you are a LSU fan, but LSU was not your normal LSU, from my perspective.

I work for them, not really a fan. I just don't understand the rationale for saying a team that went 10-3 against the hardest schedule in the country had a down year.
