I don't get it about Missouri. We have never dominated them. It looks like the Tigers lead the series with 5 wins against 2 losses so we don't reestablish anything against them. We have to get better than them.

That was not my point, they are mid tier, we used to dominate that tier group of the SECwhen we were a big time program. I did not mean for that to be literal...understand?

Spav was #1 on my list early. He will be the next great HC candidate imo after a couple years tho.
Rumor is fedora actually reached out to Pruitt and was told no thanks.

Supposedly there is some real bad blood with fedora and some HS folks on NC. At least that was VQ explanation when search first started to why fedora likely would never be a serious target. I expect he goes back to coach with gundy

Beckman hasn't been the coach at Illinois since 2014 and has been unemployed since then. Plus he's a defensive coach.

Monken has ties to Chip Lindsey. As it was monkens offense at southern miss Chip was running. Probably where the connect came from. I have to stop the more I post the more sucked in I get on a guy that likely is sticking in NFL

If you're interested in a Gundy style offense why haven't we heard these names...seem far more possible.

Tim Beckman (active HC at Illinois so maybe a reach)
Larry Fedora (HC experience & SEC experience)
Walt Bell (New UMass HC..but from TN! Not as proven as others though)
Jake Spavital (New Texas State HC...but has SEC & OC experience)

Beckman hasn't coached since 2014, not sure where you got the idea he's still at Illinois, Lovie Smith has been there for three years now.

Also Walt Bell is equally responsible as Taggart for that abomination of an offense FSU fielded this season, so thanks but no thanks idc what state he's from.

I doubt Spavital would leave his first HC gig before coaching a game, he seems to have aspirations of being the head guy rather than just an OC.

So that leaves Fedora, who isn't a bad option, but I'm also not sure is the best option either and shouldn't be taken just because he's been in the SEC before.

Yes, we had all our eggs in Yurcich’s basket so we are in scramble mode.

1) I don’t buy that Yurcich was done. At best I could buy that he ever told us “no” until he got the Ohio State job.
2) Even still, sitting on one guy for three weeks is gross mismanagement.

what? of course it matters. it puts those wins in a different context in the moment they happened. most of them were upsets. And whose to say that if MIA isn't upset in week 1 they don't finish stronger? Same with AUB. UCF may not play a "real" schedule, but they'd beat all but maybe 4 SEC teams.

Ratings are based on how good the team is at the time. As it turns out, those teams weren't top 25 teams. You're a good guy, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Both of them are having a hard time, IMO.

I don’t think Fulmer is as involved in this from an administrative perspective as we assume. Pruitt has a rubber stamp from a football perspective from Fulmer. He can hire whoever he’s comfortable with.

Pruitt is going to have to take a chance on a no-namer. It is just the way it is. I hope he finds the right one.

As a mentor, Fulmer should be more involved. This could catapult the program ahead or set us back. As everyone has said, this is a big hire.

Yeah but as an advisor/mentor. I don’t think he’s involved administratively as far as contract negotiations and things like that. He leaves the money stuff to the money people.

I think he has an "up & comer" in his back pocket already, that's ultimately why it's drug on so long. He's looking for a better proven guy and until he exhaust all on his list he is continuing the search.

It's not you I was responding to. So many people group Missouri in there and I don't get it. Also, I believe since they've been in the SEC they have been in the championship game at least twice and have won more than they've lost something that generally can't be said about UK and Vandy.

If he is doing that, that is a foolish way to conduct a search, choose a mate, or run business period. If it is his ace, he has to own it. If he can't own it, it is not his ace.
