you know what i'm happy about? that we set our sights on a guy, and didn't take no for an answer. did we probably overpay? yep.

don't care. if he wound up or was/is/has been #1 on the list for any length of time, then do what you gotta do to get him.

I mean let’s be honest... Weinke didn’t help us with the running backs.... wouldn’t mind Tee filling that role and Tee is a better recruiter and with chaney don’t need a QB coach so... yeah if Weinke is gone I am ok.

He's also been very wrong on many recruits and stumbled his way through the OC search. Like I said, I think he means well and I used to be a firm believer he was well connected. I just think his connections are are solid as they once were.

No one is always accurate with recruiting. Just the nature of the business.

AV is way more connected than me, so his info is better than what I know!

Yep. Ultimately, it doesn't matter if we overpaid. We've got the money. Well..."we" is doing an awful lot of work here, of course. I don't have the money.

I think Aesius hit the nail on the head and it echoes what a lot of people have said in here for a while: what this program desperately needs is stability. We know we have a top notch defensive mind. We know we have a top notch offensive mind. Recruiting is going well. Let's just give it some time and be patient.
