Basically every unit on our team was exposed in those games. The LBs played solid ball in spurts (like the DL did). They were exposed in games we played against good Sr QBs and Tua. They held up pretty good against the run in some other games. Our ILBs had some bad games, but other units on our team had bad games every game. It's not like the DL returns anybody who played well in those games.
At least the ILBs have a year game of experience each. If Bituli and Ignont take modest steps forward and we can find decent rotational play from 1-2 of To'oto'o, Crouch, Reid, or JJP, then we could see solid enough play from them. However, DL is only returning 1 known quantity in Taylor and they need to scrounge together 6-8 guys who can give us SEC level DL play. I'll feel better about the DL if or when Solomon declared eligible and Savion Williams starts turning heads in fall camp. Until then, there's no reason to expect our DL to give us more than the ILBs will.
Basically i don’t expect our ILBs to get much better. We’ve seen them play a lot of snaps. They are pretty much what they are at this point imo.
If the incoming freshman don’t play a lot then that’s alarming IMO.
I agree with this, but you also have to keep in mind where the program was when Pruitt took over..... I mean they didn't even have a weight room.IDT any coach should get an automatic five years. I think you take it year-by-year. You know upfront that a staff is going to need a couple of years to change the complexion of the team and put in their foundation. You expect growing pains. But you can also find out that some coaches aren't the right hire. Dooley, Butch, Holly-- all coaches UT kept too long hoping, against evidence to the contrary, that they could become something they weren't.
Any sane person would be.

Strongly disagree that the existing ILBs won't get any better. I would expect Bituli and Ignont to be better in the 2nd year of a new defense they were just learning last year. Not sure what to expect from Reid, but I have been encouraged by the off season transformation of his body and some of the initial reports from practice. I also expect Henry T and Q to get many snaps as well. Just not sure if it will be OLB or ILB or both.Basically i don’t expect our ILBs to get much better. We’ve seen them play a lot of snaps. I'm a Bible thumper, and I do not believe in legislating morality...in fact I detest it. It serves God no purpose, and only makes my job harder as it has created a deep resentment. "Religious" has become a dirty word to the majority of people IMO.
I also know that I am in a minority amongst my brethren, and my views cause me to get a lot of grief amongst some of my peers, but it is something I feel very strongly about...Freedom to make personal choices.

Sorry! I was trying to be funny about someone saying we acted like they didn't have a weight room before Pruitt got here.Five years should be earned-- not guaranteed. I think Pruitt would agree with that. He doesn't think it's going to take five years to get UT competitive in the division. His goals are more aggressive than that.
Not sure what you mean about no weight room. UT had a workout/weight room that had just been remodeled to the previous staff's specs. It had weights as well as other equipment. The new staff wanted a new floor, new lighting, no mirrors and custom-made Sorinex equipment. UT went from new school to old school workouts at a cost of more more than $1 mil over a couple of years. UT always had excellent facilities-- the discipline and S&C programs between the staffs are just worlds apart.
