They hit hip to hip. It's pretty clear it was a foul. It simply was. Lamonte made a great effort play and just went an inch too far. That's basketball. An excruciating game of inches. But if we shoot over 50% FTs we're never in that spot. We lost to a really good team on a night 1 guy went insane. That's what stinks about 1-loss tournaments. No shame there. Love those guys.

The hip is only there because of how it moves with the leg kick out. This is the most horrible call at the end of a game to give 3 free throws ever.

You could be right. Maybe it was offense initiated. but regardless how do you call it in that situation?? Far too ticky tacky to decide a whole game

Yes, the officials handed Purdue that game. 100%. Should we have played better in the first half? Absolutely! Should we have hit more of our free throws? Absolutely! But, when the game was on the line the official stepped in and decided it. It was a bogus call and the official should never be allowed to call another tournament game. I hope it haunts him for a long time.

I want to punch him in his freaking face and mash his head in with my foot and laugh at his idiot self. I am still pissed.

You just can't call a foul there on the shooter or the defender. Just let em play. Now, if he had bowled him over by running thru this chest then yes, he makes you call it.

Out of bounds was definitely close I'll give you that. Wish they had another angle. He did "heel up" but for a split second there his right heel may have tapped I thought

He has to reestablish himself totally back in before he can catch that pass. So if he raised it up who cares? He was out and had not come back completely in when he first touched the ball.

I was only looking at after he caught the ball. Didn't see if he went out of bounds before the pass.

I've seen that movie before:

Funny when I tried it none of those fun things happened

Wouldn't that be something?

If it could happen in any sport it would be ncaa bb. March Madness is such a freaking luckbox. Almost wish they'd adopt a double knockout or best-of series approach like the nba has rather than leaving it up to a single play to decide your whole season.

Filling out a 68 team double-elimination bracket would be hilarious.

Well Vols got beat, so at least we can watch the rest of the tournament without having our nerves racked. Watching these boys the last few games has shortened my life.

March Madness is tough. I was surprised to read Duke has only been to 2 final fours in the last 14 years. That despite usually having a significant talent advantage and the best coach in the history of the game.

Getting to the sweet 16 out of a field of 300+ teams is a monumental achievement.

Getting past it frankly takes some luck, in addition to talent and coaching.

I’m proud of our team. I was completely entertained by them and they played hard for four or so solid months. That’s all I can ask for as a sports fan.
