Last 3 was nasty, but man ya gotta make him drive there. Couldn't believe we gave em space for a stepback. I thought if he missed that one we'd wrap it up for sure. Unreal luck his one career game was that one. Watch Purdue go 0 for 18 the next game.

Grant was on him for one, and Grant had 4 fouls. The problem in today’s game is they have the “cylinder” rule where you can’t guard in their personal space. Joe Lindsey loves to call it. My dad used to tell me to get up in the opponent’s shirt, and you can’t quite do that these days. It makes it easier for the offense.

You're wrong..that is a BS call that never gets called against bluebloods...never. That makes it a BS call, plus dude was OB to start with, plus he initiated the contact..

That was a horrid horrid horrid bad call...

Out of bounds was definitely close I'll give you that. Wish they had another angle. He did "heel up" but for a split second there his right heel may have tapped I thought

I know people have their opinions about Basilio, but his post game shows are quite cathartic, especially after a loss. One of his "contributors" analyzes the trends with certain officials. The official that called the foul on Turner at the end worked 6 of our games this year, and we were 3-3 in those games. In the first half last night, I think he said there were 8 fouls called against us...that guy called 6 of them. I try to resist the urge to be a tin-foil hat guy, but those types of things definitely make me go, "Hmmmm"

Joe Lindsey. I said last night in another thread: I heard on radio he was calling our game and thought it was trouble. If you watch enough basketball over the years, you know which ones might be a problem.

He officiated our last regular season game at Auburn. I don’t think he likes Grant. Instead of listening to Grant, I clearly remember he told Grant to “quit talking” after a foul was called.

After a night's sleep and additional time to ponder and reflect about the end of regulation in the basketball game last night, I have awakened refreshed and invigorated. And, when I say invigorated, I am even more infuriated by the heinous incompetence of the officiating crew. I realize that had we played better in the first half or had we hit a couple more free throws, we win the game. Those facts do not in any way forgive the blatant wrongness of the last 2.5 seconds of the game. There were five instances where if the referees had ruled the other way (and all are debatable at least, and one is criminal). It seems to me that the ball was off Edwards after the block. That one is debatable. It also appears that it may have taken longer than 5 seconds to inbound the ball. Then, there is the blatant push off by Edwards to get open. I realize that happens a lot, but this one was very obvious. Then, there is the fact that it appeared at least one of his heels may have touched out of bounds prior to him launching the shot and then there is the "foul." Of all of these, that one is the biggest joke. I realize that Coach Barnes said it was definitely a foul. That does not excuse the fact that it absolutely should not have been called and likely has not been called in a similar situation in other games this year. If you swallow your whistle on the push off, then you HAVE TO SWALLOW IT on the shot. He does kick his leg out and the very limited contact made (which Edwards likely initiated) did nothing to change the shot. Why, for the love of all that is holy, does this kind of crap happen to Tennessee basketball over and over? I absolutely hate it for our players.
Yep, from now until the day I depart this earth, when I think of the end of this game this will happen.

Yes, the officials handed Purdue that game. 100%. Should we have played better in the first half? Absolutely! Should we have hit more of our free throws? Absolutely! But, when the game was on the line the official stepped in and decided it. It was a bogus call and the official should never be allowed to call another tournament game. I hope it haunts him for a long time.
I seriously doubt he's gonna be bothered while he sips on his marguerita in the Caribbean..

It's the combination of all of them (including the time timeclock) that's got me infuriated. I don't care if people want to debate this or that call but all of them?
When does one team get the favorable call in 5 different judgements?

Freaking ridiculous.

"Those officials are clean bro, above reproach"...Devo probably.

Let me preface this by saying we did not help ourselves at all. We still should have won the game. The missed dunk, free throws, etc... in the end, we did those to ourselves and I can live with that even though it is tough. I do have a hard time dealing with the officiating. I just wish they were held accountable!!! Players and coaches are required to face the media and answer the tough questions. Why are officials not held to the same standard? Maybe that would make them call it like it is supposed to be called, fair and square. They should be made to watch Barnes address his team in the locker room after the game. They just don't understand the impact they have on players, coaches, and fans. They just collect their check and move on the the next game. SAD!!!

That goofball was hitting rainbow prayers from the parking lot. This crap only happens to Tennessee.

Wouldn't that be something?

If it could happen in any sport it would be ncaa bb. March Madness is such a freaking luckbox. Almost wish they'd adopt a double knockout or best-of series approach like the nba has rather than leaving it up to a single play to decide your whole season.

If grant and bone come back then hell yeah. James, Burns, and Gaines could elevate our talent level even more.

Yeah...it extremely pissed me off at the lack of effort and givadamn, it didn't make me sad.

Each Vandy loss makes me quite sad. It's just been depressing AF to lose to those bums again and again recently. So ready for it to be over. Ready to get back to the old 60-0 stompings if at all possible.

What is almost worst are some other rival fans like Missouri and Florida fans chiming in with their input like we give a flying crap what they think.

Wonder how James would work into the rotation. Going to be clogged up next year for sure. Or Barnes will come up with some sick all-small and quick rotation scheme.
