On Auburn/Pearl making the EE:

"Unlike the one he made at Tennessee, this Elite Eight appearance will probably get vacated down the road by the FBI"

- Patrick Brown, 247 🤣🤣

This has to be the dumbest takes I have ever seen.

Russ Smith and Patrick Brown have shown how petty they are this Tournament.

Newsflash: It is okay to say Bruce Pearl is a great coach. It is also okay to say Barnes is a great coach. It is in fact okay to say both are great coaches as the same time. It is more than okay to like both of them at the same time. Liking one doesn't mean you hate the other.

Exactly. Our media people can be so embarrassing sometimes.

I understand their frustration, but any one of those free throws wins the game, all else being equal. Love those guys, but they cracked under pressure and the foul call was one of 16 + things that shift that game to a victory

Come at @drvenner bro
I totally get your point. Ultimately, we had plenty of chances to win. It does not diminish the fact, IMO, that the call was blown and it tilted the game in an otherwise very competitive setting to the other team when it should not have occurred.

How quick we were to buy into the "the team hates Barnes" narrative (full disclosure: I'm not excluding myself).

As a fanbase, we really have to stop biting on every little bit of potential negativity that arises with regard to UT athletics.
I don't understand why many in this fanbase want every negative thing to be true

I guess I'm in the minority that remembers the fond times with Bruce on our side, the fond memories we made this year with PB&J and the Volunteers, and can still enjoy watching the rest of the NCAAT.. I feel bad for the salt miners that can't let things go.
Get off your high horse Tonto...we are sick of getting screwed over and rightfully so.

Ha ha ha. Wow. I can already see a scenario with everyone turning on Rick in 2 to 4 years (he couldn’t win big at Texas and he can’t win here!), Rick retiring and then us cycling through basketball coaches for another decade or more...
I think Grant and Bone’s decision could play a huge part in that. If they stay, we’ll likely have another great season, and there will be a good bridge between this era and what should be a great recruiting class in 2020. If they leave, we may be a bubble team next year, and then really young for 20-21. That’s potentially two seasons where we may not make the tournament. Your prediction may come true at that point.

I'm an optimist by nature, and I used to be an optimist about UT sports. But now I find myself so willing to believe anything negative that's UT related, and immediately skeptical of any good news.

The failure of the 2016 football season and the Currie-Schiano debacle have made me uncharacteristically cynical. I've got to get out of that rut.

It’s whats happened to me with the Braves. Watching the NL East make major moves in the offseason while the Braves did nothing has killed my optimism. This weekend did nothing but fuel that

Phil Steele has been posting his projections for top freshmen impact players for the 2019 season. He ranks them by position group. So far he’s done offensive line, tight ends, wide receivers. and quarterbacks.
Potential for impact this season (national ranking by position)
QB #38 Maurer
WR #27 Keyton
TE #31 S. Brown, #16 Lowe
OL #39 Lampley #4 Morris, #1 Wright

I hope that of any coach that cheats to win. Doesn't mean I hate him. Sorry if I think integrity should mean something.
Come on man...my problem is with the ones that go beyond the accepted norm and get away with it. Everybody knows that to get a lot of big recruits, you have to be competitive in that arena as well. I am not naive...

After the whole Larry Nassar situation and the MSU AD, Admin, and D'Antonio along with Izzo helping cover up and deny the allegations and support the AD, I can't bring myself to root for MSU.

That whole Athletic Department needs to be cleaned out. There's still a stink to them.
I had forgotten about some of that. If they win it all, I win my office pool, but after this reminder, I will still be cheering against them.

This weekend was an embarrassment. Did they even have 2 non rookie pitchers on the mound?

Julio on day 1. It was completely embarrassing. It was the contrast between a front office who wants to win and a FO who probably doesn't even watch the games.

Either let this be an April Fools joke, or I’m joining @bignewt and @volatil on the “I don’t care about Lady Vols Basketball” bandwagon.

As with everything, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

You misspelled qualification. You a happier fella when we didn’t have to deal with disappointment...because we didn’t go? Can’t go with you on that. UNC and Duke and Kentucky fans ain’t happy right now either with their trophies. Unlike you they think it’s worth another try and another and another. I think it was 86 when Duke fielded that Jay Bilas, Johnny Dawkins, Mark Alarie team. Had been a long journey for group of seniors. From losing records to also rans in the tournament. Destinied themselves all the way to the championship game. Lost a heartbreaker to Never Nervous Pervis Ellison and the other Louisville Cardinals. Then they built around Danny Ferry and just missed out EVERY year...til 91. 6 championships and in there every season. Just keep qualifying. Sure you just want to quit after two? No judgement...but good luck.
Greeeeeaaaatttt post Butchie....we have some pure idiots for fans..SMH.
