And why worry? We can't change it at all. I get that we all want to excel and recruiting discussions are why we're here, but I don't get all the hand-wringing. Ob la di. Ob la da.
And the waxing martyrdom at being disagreed with to boot. Laying out personal labels, mocking calls for patience (“it’s only May) whilst bristling at the same treatment. What either side stamps as truth NOW won’t resemble the real thing in February. There will be players let go by some of these teams presently killing it to make room for emerging players from the actual upcoming high school seasons. We got room! 😎

You don't need Top 10 talent to win 10 games counting a bowl. Kentucky says "hi". Top 20 roster talent works just fine. You need players with strong desires to win, development, depth, sound schemes/game plans that utilize strengths and minimize weaknesses - to go with a reasonable schedule that matches the roster talent well.

Like many have posted, let's walk first. If they are fortunate and start running quicker, great. But let's be happy as fans with steady improvement that trends toward the best. I could care less on who they miss on in recruiting. I care about who wants to be a Vol and actually signs.

Been watching this in both forums for a while.
Saying "Negative - hand wringing - whining" = supposedly being "attacked".

But calling people "Sheep - fanboys - delusional - coach worshippers " = supposed honest discussion and realism.

Hard to take their victim card seriously while they're firing with both barrels.

A truly great offensive or defensive mind can get production out of really anything. This year is a big year for him.
Defense got better last year until the collapse in the final two games. Really just the Vandy game. We were in the Mizzou game until chryst threw that god awful pick 6 before the half

To tack onto these posts, here is some help on defining "big-time throws" (I had never heard it before):

"What is a big-time throw?

In its simplest terms, a big-time throw is on the highest end of both difficulty and value. While the value is easy to see statistically, the difficulty has more to do with passes that have a lower completion percentage the further the ball is thrown down the field. Therefore, the big-time throw is best described as a pass with excellent ball location and timing, generally thrown further down the field and/or into a tighter window."

I don't understand why folks argue this point when it comes to JG. He's never been criticized by anyone of note for a lack of arm talent or strength. In fact, I remember one evaluator (might've been Dilfer) who lamented that JG's problem as a HS prospect 'might be that he's too talented.' IOW, he hadn't had to buckle down and work as much as others up to that point because he had so much natural talent.

Interestingly enough his close friends are planning officials to Tennessee. Darrion Henry is eyeing the 14th of June. Jaheim Thomas is not sure but does plan to give Tennessee one. Johnson said Pruitt was very honest with him and told him, “if we don’t win 8-9 game this year, don’t consider us. We aren’t on track.” So that should tell you where the expectations are.
Thought this was interesting from the Paris Johnson thread. Figured it applies to some of the discussion taking place here.

Sounds like we're actively telling kids to keep options open, that they should wait and see on us.

Bold strategy. Should be interesting fall lol... And if we do win 8 or 9, I expect we'll close pretty strong. If not....

But again just more credence to the "it's only May" narrative...

So.... We'll see lol
