The bagman is over rated, imo. All big time programs are paying. That puts in squarely back at the the three things that recruits are looking at: playing time, ability to win a championship, and path to NFL.
And why worry? We can't change it at all. I get that we all want to excel and recruiting discussions are why we're here, but I don't get all the hand-wringing. Ob la di. Ob la da.
Haven’t gotten to watch a lot of the playoffs this year outside of a few GS vs. HOU games but I will be glued to the TV for GS vs Milwaukee. That should be a really good series.
You don't need Top 10 talent to win 10 games counting a bowl. Kentucky says "hi". Top 20 roster talent works just fine. You need players with strong desires to win, development, depth, sound schemes/game plans that utilize strengths and minimize weaknesses - to go with a reasonable schedule that matches the roster talent well.
Like many have posted, let's walk first. If they are fortunate and start running quicker, great. But let's be happy as fans with steady improvement that trends toward the best. I could care less on who they miss on in recruiting. I care about who wants to be a Vol and actually signs.
A truly great offensive or defensive mind can get production out of really anything. This year is a big year for him.
104 days until we can stop worrying about worthless verbal commitments & focus more on us winning every game by 600 points going undefeated.
I don't disagree. I think our cheat game has a lot to catch up on. However, I think the gap is narrowing. I think if two teams want a player badly, it doesn't come down to money as often as you think. But our network has been down for some time. Weak leadership and networking. We have to get this back on point first and foremost. If you are anyone with free time on your hands and/or donations to spare - spend it with our network, not the utad. They are fine, but the vol network really needs it more.
