Freshman Elijah Simmons was back out there going through drills after getting poked in the eye early in practice on Wednesday.
Maurer has a quick release, and while it doesn't always come out as a perfect spiral, the rookie has the fastball down. He whistled one a little high to Cedric Tillman on a slant, but finished one set with an impressive throw on a dime to the boundary with Jim Chaney and Chris Weinke stressing to the quarterbacks that they place the ball to where the wideouts had to flatten out their routes after breaking to the sideline.
Shrout looks a little smoother mechanically and doesn't throw many wobblers, and his passes have a little less zip than Maurer's, but he got into a good rhythm and was hitting his targets more often than not on Thursday.
Kennedy remained in the middle of what's become a familiar first group with Wanya Morris at left tackle, Trey Smith at left guard, K'Rojhn Calbert at right guard and Marcus Tatum and right tackle.
It was multi-posted for emphasis. You just got caught in the crossfire. Reasonable response from you.Why are you telling me he quit? He did quit, absolutely. You’re implying I think he deserves a ring. I never addressed that. Only setting the record straight on him quitting kept his chances alive to play one more season for the NFL draft. Good choice for quitting.
Football season is about to start, that board is about to pick it up big time. They staff four guys for a reason. The site got to big for just Wes & RyanI can understand the GoVols 24/7 site being #10 in clicks, but surprised it would be that high in subscribers. If that many TN fans can stomach Wes Rucker, then TN has a pretty amazing fanbase.
Life is about choices. He had to choose between having eligibility to be the starter somewhere else or staying on a team to get a ring as the backup. Not going to ever rip a kid for transferring. He knew Lawrence was better than him and decided to protect his eligibility. That’s fine with me.
Maybe he should get a ring, maybe he shouldn’t. I’d say there’s a steep likelihood he contributed more for that team than some other players.
Except if he stayed his career was over. Jalen was a grad transfer. Not apples to apples.
