yeah. there was no way the fall out from Satruday wouldn't be bad. a) media was going to poke and prod UT to the Nth degree b)fans were justifiably pissed, and would not be shy about it on social media. c) rival fans will have a field day with ALL OF IT.

it did occurr to me though............what if TN fans just went silent?

no vol twitter. no body posting here or on VQ, no body calling radio shows............just dead calm quiet.

i would imagine the silence would be deafening. pretty much how i felt all weekend. haven't felt "up to it" as far as talking about, hearing about, or reading about TN football til today, and even now, i'm just dipping my toes int he water.

just really really "meh" right now.

I think it's good fans are mad, it's the "don't blame you for going somewhere else" idiots that need smacked.

Petrino trashed Louisville. It will be a long season for them, but help is on the way.

Trashed them with top 30 classes? Last year's was ranked 69 for the current staff...

Most of the talent on that team that was hanging with ND in the 1st half came from Petrino's tenure, he just lost them or something. Won at least 8 games in his first 4 years back and then the 2-8 season after Lamar Jackson left early. A single off-season doesn't "suddenly" restock a team, especially with the 25 player limit. Current staff found the "switch" it appears to reignite/motivate the players at least, credit there.

It has to be impossible. Just tried to reinvent the wheel, the result was obvious and now we'll play for real..right??

This is Year 1 under our new HC & staff. That's how I'm going with it. Based on the amount of youth that played against Georgia State and how often they were rotating bodies I am going to just tell myself that. I'll have no expectations moving forward and tune in to see if the players are gaining confidence as the season wears on.

Pruitt has to beat someone before we can figure out who the qualified candidates are to be our next HC. Maybe he's smarter than I've given him credit for. If he don't beat nobody we don't have any replacement candidates.

You have to pick a starting lineup on both sides of the ball, there just isn't anyway around it. Pruitt is gonna have to learn how to be HC and not just a DC. He's got to learn to tell a kid he's not good enough right now. Can't keep being their buddy, that isn't going to work. Put your best 22 out there and rotate as needed.

Man, just doesn’t sound good. How does this happen with this coaching staff? We had -2 yards rushing in the 2nd half. JG still, after 4 years, can’t see the field. He sees one half of the field at best. I’m just still in awe of this team.

For those of you that grew up in East Tennessee and especially Knoxville, you know how important those football Saturday’s are to local businesses and the overall economy.
UT football is the front porch of this area.
