Not a WT fan, but your point about differing tastes is spot on. I like variety and find much more in the scotch whiskys. Never did think much of the Macallan line. When I want to shake things up, I reach for the Islays in the cabinet. Laphroaig and Ardbeg are fantastic with Uigeadail being one of my alltime favorites. I'll always have a bottle in my cabinet.

Ardbeg is awesome. I even like the Wee Beastie. It’s like getting smacked in the mouth with a campfire log, but I like it. Then again…I’m weird. 😉

You people who spend a fortune on bourbon, shoot me straight…

I’m a poor boy who rarely drinks and works through a bottle of Gentleman Jack in probably a year and a half. How much better is the higher shelf stuff?

Lots of great advice already. When you go out to eat try stuff you haven't had before, a lot cheaper than buying a bottle you wont like and never drink.

Everyone has a different palate and proof level. I started in the 90s range and now prefer something in the 110 range. Also some lean towards particular distillers.

You don't have to spend $100 plus to find good bottles, that's just what bourbon taters will make you think. Evan Williams 100 Proof is a good bourbon for less than $20. One of my favorite dailies is the 6 year Heaven Hill green label that they stopped making and it was 15 a bottle. Tons of great ones around $50.

Honestly some of my favorite tasting bottles are easy to find Woodford Double Oaked ($50s) Russel Reserve 10 yr ($?), Wild Turkey 101 ($20-30s) and Four Roses Small Batch Select ($60).

That being said, higher end stuff is going to often offer greater spectrums in taste that you might not find at the lower end. I have a bunch of other things like Blanton's, Elmer T Lee, 1792 Full Proof, Weller Antique, and others Plus have had Pappy several times.

But, if you have not developed a pallet for bourbon or don't drink a whole lot of it, you will not be missing a thing with any of the above and I'd even add Old Tub at $20 punches way above it's weight in taste for the past price

Saban would be shown for what he really is at a place like Wisconsin...a coach that ain't no better than anybody else when given equal or less talent.

Wiscy ain't got, and ain't never gonna have the player buying system the Crappabama has.

Listen...I get we don't like our rivals, but Nick Saban is probably going to go down as one of the best college head coaches to ever do it. I don't know if he could do anything for Wisconsin more than what's already been done there, and he honestly may have no desire to build a new dynasty when he's got Bama chugging along.

But Shula was 3 games over 500 when he was fired and Saban brought in. He built that program down there, and it's just our luck it happened to be our yearly west rival. There is a reason why in 27 years of coaching at 4 different schools in 3 different conferences that he's only had 2 seasons where he finished at 500 and has never finished with a losing season. He's a damn good coach.

Has anyone checked the GA board to see if they have pains in the a-- over there fahring everybody, too? They sucked winning this week.

I have and they were basically saying “throw the whole team away” 😂😂 they complained from the OL to the DL…that forum Saturday was our FF here.
