Two ways to look at this...
  1. For public perception and fan satisfaction, this is the most important game.
  2. For the playoffs, beating GA is far more important.
We can lose to Bama, win out (including the SEC tourney), and still be guaranteed a playoff spot. If we lose to GA, the narrative is out of our control.
I think we have a decent shot either way, as long as we don't get blown out by either team. If we beat one of them, we are in because:

If we beat Bama and lose to Georgia in Athens close, then Georgia wins the SEC Championship we are in. Bama would have 2 losses, and we'd be seen as the second best SEC team who might beat Georgia on a neutral field.

If we lose to Bama but beat Georgia we are in the SEC title game with a chance to avenge the loss. We win we are in. We lose, we probably don't make the playoff. But I don't think Georgia would either.

Someone threw soup on a Van Gogh painting
The article said they were protesters and glued their hands to the wall after they dumped the soup on the painting which was not harmed because of the protective glass. If I was the first cop on the scene, I would have pulled them away from the wall and left their skin glued to the wall :cool::cool:

To be fair, Napier kept them in the game with his lay it all on the line strategy. He knew he was outmanned and couldn’t stop our offense so he went for all those 4th downs even in their own territory. If they hadn’t converted most of those then it’s a blowout and an easily questionable move. But they did.

To be fair, that strategy was dumb as hell for going on 4th that many times. He was just on the lucky side of the coin unlike Brian Kelly

Bama sewing doubt regarding Young for three reasons:

1) Gamesmanship
2) When he does start, and plays even a pedestrian/normal game, if Bama wins he will gain a ton of Heisman votes for the perception that he braved an injury to will a win against their rival.
3) When he does start, and plays however, if Bama loses Young and Bama get the benefit of the doubt that they would have been better had Young been healthy.

maybe some of our fans who are upset about the orange helmets should dump soup on the helmets

Nailed it.

Yes, he needs to feel comfortable But many players are not 100% when they play. Players play through injuries all the time. Shoot, I played in college around 70% with a terrible in grown nail and had surgery the next day. I would gladly do it again to help my team.
I played a full soccer tournament after getting my entire toenail ripped off and big toe broken on my dominant foot from a dirty tackle in the first game. I wasn't 100%. Really hard to kick a ball with a broken toe and raw nailbed with nothing but tape.

But it's not the same. At all. Not close. That was just playing through pain. Every guy on the field is playing through pain. Playing through pain and not being 100% is not the same as playing too early and not being 100% after a ligament/tendon/muscle injury and/or surgery. Tillman and Bryce can get reinjured, make it worse, cost them the season and a lot of money, etc. Those injuries teeter on wanting to get back out there as soon as possible but waiting long enough to make sure the likelihood of reinjury is low. And there's no way of actually know when that is. It's a gamble.

I’m guessing he won’t be able to throw the ball over 20 yrds without significant pain unless he’s numbed up, then accuracy might be off?!
I’m guessing first time he gets driven to the ground, that’s it for the day.
With this injury, ainge said he will be able to make all the throws with his feet squared and set. On the run, he won't be able to be accurate. If he falls on it, it may knock him outta the game.

Just so y’all know it was me when you see the story:

Tomorrow, I’m going to hang out where the Bama players enter Neyland disguised as a Bama fan. When Saban and the players get off the bus I’m going to throw opened jugs of mustard at them and then after I’m going to superglue my hands together around a light post.

All because I want to save the planet from oil companies of course.
Just keep your damn clothes on during this protest :):):)

Yep. And I’m sure The Boys know what needs to be done.

So from a passing perspective, as long as we get pressure he'll either have an off game or will be knocked out of the game. None of the houdini plays he's made in the past, which in that case I do think they're going to hurt us with the quick passing game (see Ball State). Running the ball would be running into the strength of our defense.
