It was a really good game. Heisman implications, potential playoff implications, back and forth action, high scoring game, records were broken, last second kick, Good guys won, Shield-Watkins was stormed, girls were punched, Dixieland delight, traitors cried, goal posts were thrown in the Tennessee River. That same river has risen a foot since that day due to all the Bama tears.

So, if you are not satisfied with how the DBs have played and complain about WM, then you don't know much about football?

I'm guessing the number of fans that are satisfied with the DB play is very low. The DBs struggled last year too.

Every realistic Vol fan last year knew the defense was going to struggle due to limited talent. The talent level hasn’t changed much 16 months later. Somehow, the idea got into fans head that it’s really a coaching problem. Facts are we see a defender beat by a step or a great throw or a receiver make a DB Miss a tackle. None of which the greatest DB coach in history can prevent. We rarely see a WR run alone regularly cause they get confused (like we see our opponents do each week)

I’m sure WM isn’t proud his secondary gives up a lot of yardage but teams that score a lot usually have high passing numbers against them also. I doubt Tenn will ever lead the conference in pass defense.

Tennessee was very limited who & how many transfers they could sign this past spring. I’m sure they wanted several but didn’t have spots due to having a 73 scholly limit self imposed during the entire 2021-22 school year. I think the defensive staff has done an amazing job the last 2 seasons with what they inherited, good and bad. Now if you knew all of this and still think the problem is coaching, I can’t help you.
