I am just talking about the last drive, they ripped off chunks. I thought that is what we were talking about. I wasn’t talking about the play calling the entire game.

I was talking about the beginning of the final drive that ended in a punt and the drive before that that ended in a missed FG . It ended up working out on third down when Northwestern was deep in their own territory but they were getting stuffed on the run a good bit leading up til then and it seemed like the type of playcalling that puts everything on the defense and can get you burned. With Northwestern missing multiple DBs it seemed like a risky strategy, especially when Nebraska's quarterback had already made a crazy play earlier in the game. But it worked out for them.

Put in his time and was ready for the opportunity. For some reason his process failed. Mebbe the hometown, favorite son expectations didn’t help, but it’s his failure. Could see him reinventing himself and the dynamics working at another locale…after a mid-major stint.

In all reality, Frost was probably recruiting better players while at UCF and playing against weaker competition with those better players. He definitely had more team speed and better quarterbacks at UCF. I think most of his UCF teams would beat most of his Nebraska teams.

Who does Nebraska go after now that Frost cannot get it done? I’m not sure what they do. They went the offense route and it’s backfired. They need to find a Pelini or Narduzzi guy.
According to their board either Urban or Lane

I mean MAYBE they could convince Lane. Maybe.

But Urban 😭😭😭

He didn't really recruit the good players he had at UCF tho. He did a good job developing those guys tho. He probably need to go back to a group 5 school.

Most of the recruits he won with in that epic season were George O’Leary’s. Have to give credit for their development, but his team building process is unproven.

Northwestern under Fitzgerald has been a salty program tho. This isn’t an Old Dominion level loss that was a harbinger for Fuente’s eventual doom.

I definitely agree but Pate has been beating the drum all off season that Nebraska is a seven or eight win team based on the fact that most of their losses last year were very close. I can understand why Josh thought that but Nebraska just hasn't been bringing in the talent to justify that much faith and Frost losing so many close games is more of a reason to doubt him and Nebraska than to think they were due for a big turnaround.

That said, I'm a big fan of Pate and Late Kick and I think he is one of the best in the business. He is very fair, with an understandable SEC bias, but he seems to genuinely appreciate what most of us love about college football.

Three solid names. Patterson would revitalize Nebraska’s Texas connection tho more at the high 3 star level. Don’t know if he’s ready or willing to abandon his cushy oil dummy tied to make that plunge at his age.

I think Patterson and TCU were a great fit but I don't see Patterson succeeding at Nebraska in the BIG. I don't think he would be able to recruit fast enough defensive players.

Didn't Monte Kiffin coach at Nebraska back in the day? Lane could scheme up some offense maybe there and not have to deal with the SEC West gauntlet.

HB number 2 on the depth chart at UNLV.. behind a true sophomore
The starter is tearing it up so far.

20/24 351 yards 4 TDs

IN THE FIRST HALF

Granted vs an fcs team. But you'd think HB would get some mop up duty up 37 at the half lol. Just can't believe he couldn't win the job at one of the worst programs in FBS football.
