I completely understand it. That game was over in the first quarter, regardless of what the score was. I knew immediately we were in for it
But...it wasn't over...the Bru miss and the Hyatt miss alone were 14 pts...and they weren't the only big misses, just the most egregious. We were missing, but big plays were still there despite all of the mistakes.

This offense isn't out down by 21 pts...was Alabama out when we were up that big?

As this program grows up, people better get used to seeing big swings in games. As we evolve over the years, I don’t think we will truly be out of games unless we are down by 28+ and have game ending injuries all over the field.

Our thinking is based on years and years of garbage offense that could barely score 20 points, much less come from that far back.

Everyone gets a mulligan then? Sweet, we're still 8-0, undefeated and ranked #1!
No,no…you see it’s those tremendously difficult to win neutral site games that should be discounted when analyzing wins and losses.
UT losing by 14 points in Athens in front of UGA’s highest decibel record setting environment ever wasn’t nearly as difficult as Oregons 40 point loss in Atlanta. At least that is the shite that people saying Oregons loss to UGA was a “better loss” than Tennessee’s was. Ludicrous.

I used to think that because of them being good might lessen Bama who we play each year and we, of course, don’t play Auburn.
But every time we go head to head for a recruit vs Auburn and lose out, I change my mind.
It's more about Georgia, but yeah.

You mean the school that just lost to Liberty Biberty? lol
3 point spread and will be an 11 o clock game on the road. And apparently in the 20 degree range.

Perfect storm for sure.

Edit: Not a bad season by Liberty either. Beat BYU by 27 and took Wake Forest to the brink and lost by 1 on the road...the only loss of their season.

I just think we had trouble blocking both teams and we hurt ourselves with penalties over and over again.

I mean we also had Tillman in the first half against Kentucky and killed them.

I thought about that but I thought we also looked clunky in that game as well. I know some of it is the ridiculous standard they’ve set.

Something that came to mind when thinking of our offensive struggles in the Pitt game and Georgia game that I wanted to throw out there. I know it’s been said that these two teams play similar defenses but I also considered that these are the only two games that Tillman has played against good competition. First, let me say that I love Tillman and think he’s awesome but do we think any of Hendon’s struggles and hesitancy is him trying to feed Tillman?
Yes. I've been thinking this ever since the UF game and recently brought it up across boards.

Lots of disagreement and scoffing from others, but I tend to agree, granted with limited data.

And it has zero to do with Keyton imo, just think either playcalling or HH has them in a lineup that actually produces worse rhythm, even though they're technically the best 3 WRs. Similar to how a basketball offense can actually regress if one player changes the chemistry and rhythm of a more efficient lineup.

Not saying you bench him ofc, but use these next 3 games to rotate the lineups and feel it out, then lean on whatever is best in the postseason.

i didn't say he did, i just said he's have a better year, compared to other QB's. and he is.

objectively, he's having a fantastic season, better than any other.

subjectively, it's not comparable to the schedules UNC and TN have. nor is it comparing the schedules of OSU or TN. or USCw and TN.

and that's the problem. this is a subjective award, and because of that, i don't see any chance HH has at getting it. deserve it? hell yeah. should get it? yeah.

but that would require voters to take in the full context of the impact this season, and Hooker's impact on that, has had for this program in general, not just in the context of a single football season.

and that's just not gonna happen.
Objectively...if Hooker played that garbage schedule full of pansy defenses, and if Heupel would let him stay in most of the game against those crap defenses...he would obliterate Mayes stats....objectively.

That’s just stupid. All that matters is who they want. And just like 98 we have to be undefeated with only one other undefeated team to get in. If there would have been another undefeated team besides Tennessee and Fl St, we would have been left out.
i think we were the only undefeated team left. didn't fsu lose to nc state earlier that year. maybe miami beat ucla and k state lost to a&m in the championship game? i might be wrong but for some reason i thought we were the only ones left. but your point still stands, if we lost to mississippi st we would have not played in nc game.

I wanted to share the pod here so we could all talk about it but they don't put their pods on YouTube or anything like that.

I mostly went through the trouble of typing it all out because I caught myself getting McGill-level fired up. So I said, "McGill needs to hear/read this"
They are freaking dead on...this committee and ESPN are going all in on Jedi mind tricking the whole country...and they know that they will be pitching these ideas to jealous SEC hating fans...telling them what they really down deep in their heart WANT to hear.

It is pure f'n 🦬💩...I told y'all before the game that we HAD to win that game because if we lost they were going to do everything they were gonna go all in in screwing us out of a spot in the playoffs.

🤬🤬 I hate em all...I hope all this enrages the team and they annihilate everyone that gets in their way.

It should be set up differently. 8 team playoff, with the loser of 1st round games going on to play in a New Year 6 bowl against an at-large team.

I'm saying that the playoff games, outside of the National Title game, shouldn't be considered bowl games. Instead, just an extension of the season by 1 game and used to qualify a team for particular bowls. Even if the 1st rd losers dont play an at-large team, they should play each other in a bowl game after the playoffs.
I don't mind the 12 team playoff....the more I think about it, the more I like it.

Says the conference championship would be used as a tiebreaker if it were between an SEC champion LSU getting in or a 1 loss Tennessee. Apparently he thinks the 40-13 head to head drubbing wouldn't be a factor.
They are going all in on screwing us out....I knew this would happen.
