Another memorable Secretariat event was the Preakness, where he started near the back of the field. Then he passed horse after horse in front of him like they were standing still. Goosebumps!

All of this talk about Secretariat reminded me of Rich Strike's epic win in this year's derby. This video is one of my favorite sports videos of all time.

Calling all VN lawyers!!! Please file a restraining order that requires @Weezer to remain 1,000 yards away from the UT recruiting office at all times. The last thing the UT recruiting office needs is him sneaking his newdz into outgoing mail to recruits. The lawsuits would derail this train quicker than Lane Kiffin jumping to a new HC job.

South Carolina is a bargain basement program. I doubt seriously they would spend the money for Briles or if Briles is dumb enough to work for Beamer.
In coaching circles there is lots of talk about turmoil on the SCjr staff. Beamer was not SCjr first choice. They hired on the cheap.

Only if he thought he could takeover after Beamer gets fired, and the hint about a surprise firing really is Arkansas. That still seems like a stretch.

Is Pittman getting fired? Why would Briles make a lateral move? Is he unhappy at Arkansas? It's hard to imagine Arkansas couldn't match salary.

It's weird, man. Both USCjr and UK boards read like our old Grumor days.

UK groundswell segment wanting Stoops gone.

USCjr fans, for some reason, don't want to hang responsibility on Beamer, so they are in full Grumor mode for a OC to save them and prove how capable Beamer will prove to be.

I actually could see Sam Pittman getting fired from there pretty easily. Not that he's done a bad job, but Jerry Jones is one of the big donors there and he likes to mess with things. Pittman is in year 3 and will be lucky to finish with 6 wins this season.

Chad Morris got fired after 2 bad years
Bielema went to 3 straight bowl games there and then fired after a 4-8 season
Petrino and Nutt both got fired as well although mostly for off the field reasons

Something seems different there though this season, they've gone from what was a pretty exciting and explosive offense to a run first style and the product on the field isn't the same.

Hmmm… maybe head coach and OC disagree on how the offense should be run.

There was a time after the game that CH talking about that play where Hyatt got so wide open on the sidleines, the one where Bru blocked for him down the sidelines, and CH said when asked about it said yeah we had that play in our back pocket and it was a great call. Doesn't sound like something CH would say about himself but maybe Golesh gives him suggestions according to what D they are running. Or it could be simply, "hey coach this would be a great time to run that play. Like I said I have no clue and I also see CH with the play call sheet. Maybe its both working together with the final word from CH.

I would assume that’s how it is. I’m sure it’s not just a one person deal.

Yeah I don’t see Arkansas letting him go that easy. With a nine and three season last year, I imagine they have the cash to keep him around. Also, there’s validity to the thought that Briles next stop might not be anywhere but Arkansas unless it’s for a head-coaching gig.

It really is a good thing I don't have a subscription over there. I'd weigh in and stick a pin in that balloon by telling them how much they sound like we did back in the days of desperate suckitude, spinning fiction as one more extended step in the process of mourning.

And again... It's alarming to see how they've fixated on the OC being the huge problem and great fix. They absolutely refuse to look honestly at Shane Beamer and say, "You know... Maybe the problem is at the head. Maybe this guy is in WAY over his head, and no ballcap turned backwards, no pair of Oakleys, no mid-blowout celebration will hide that fact."

Nope. It's the 5 minutes of hate for the OC, and the 23:55 of pure fantasy that Bryles is on his way on a white stallion to save them from their cursed tower.
