I am with you. I am extremely happy at 9-3 and just meh at 8-4. When you look at the totality of the schedule (Florida new coach…LSU new coach) and the fact the teams we consider our rivals are in more talent rich states we have to strike now.

The silver lining is we will know after the first 5 games what kind of season it will be.

I'll be fine art 8-4. Continues the trajectory and it probably means our defense wasn't much improved,but maybe we closed out a game we didn't last year like Ole Miss our Purdue. 9-3 probably puts us 2nd in the east and in the conversation for the sugar bowl...a place we haven't been in 31 years.

That's party time in my book.

If we go 8-4 we have lost to 2 of FL, LSU, and Pitt, or we’ve dropped a game to a KY or SC too.

losing to KY or SC would be embarrassing. We are far better than both. Adding rattler did not even SC up with us. That game was over after the first quarter last year

why should we lose to 2 of Pitt, Fl, and LSU? I could see LSU because they still have talent and it’s a home game for them. But this is year 1 and they were atrocious last year. This is Fl with a year 1 staff. And Pitt lost everyone who made them good last year.

have we improved? Do we really have a legit QB and coaching staff? Then we should not lose to 2 of those 3 games.

Yes. its not only that I expect us to be better, but our schedule is favorable. Why should Kelly and Sun belt billy beat us in year 1? They shouldn’t. Certainly Pitt, whom we should’ve beaten last year, won’t beat us when they lost everything that made them good

Losing to Pitt would stuck.lsu tho...Kelly is a good coach and that roster has plenty of talent. And it's at tiger stadium probably at night. I think we can win.won't be a sin of we don't.

I'll be disappointed for a lot of reasons if we lose to them...again.that was our worst loss of the year last season.let that sink in. They sucked. fired the coach sucked. We need to curb stomp them. We also have common sense and numbers. Successful programs always make their biggest jumps in year 2 (just as teams make their biggest jump between games 1 and 2). We have more depth, more talent, and more players on roster.

Look at Heups demeanor in his presser today vs last year. That’s a quietly confident guy.

I cant help but think we are going to hurt people this year.

Everything points to our offense being insane and our defense being so much better.

Favored in 10 games for a reason...

They sucked. The best game they played all year was losing to bama. But I know what you're saying. Wet just need to beat them.

I hope we hang 50 or more on Florida. So many close losses to those Sob’s over the years. 2006 and 2017 being the worsts. Ugh we owe them. 56-24 Vols Beatdown in Neyland may the football gods finally bless us with this special scenario

Side note I’d like to see more consistency out of the offense. Hit more open throws, better short yardage and more consistent run game. I’d absolutely love to see the defense tighten up and fly around. If nothing else please get more turnovers. If we can get a few vs the big opponents then maybe just maybe we could flip a few games and upset for a special season

Injuries are key and nobody here counts them into their expectations. I do, but I am one of the only ones. This is a thin roster...just a few injuries at key spots and we are struggling to win 7.

So what about the other teams like Pitt, Florida and LSU with less proven players and similarly thin rosters (we are actually pretty close to 85 scholarships)? We will have extremely costly injuries and they won't? Is that what you're banking on? Terrible things will happen? We won't improve and everyone else we play will?

This is a big part of my expectations, not only do injuries play in the out come. But how many do the refs still ? They most likely stole 2 games last year, Pitt and the mustard game. This shouldn't be happening with replay.

I was pissed because they made us show all of our assets up front (bank statements and all) to get our house, but when we turned around and sold our house the buyer couldn’t get financed for his full amount at the last minute and we lost 50k.. the realtor was on my sh!t list.. they treated us, regular people who are from the boro(I won’t go into it) like criminals, but were afraid to ask for anything I guess for this dude.. I’m still mad lol .. had I known how it was going to happen I would have sold to the one couple who were from here for less and still ended up making more.. apparently we are all supposed to trust the financials of Egyptian citizens over locals lol

I am just curious with the market the way it is, why did you not refuse to sign at closing if the amount was not what you agreed to? Or maybe, I am misunderstanding something.

Since I don’t care about conference loyalty and because I will be at Doak Campbell for a game this year, I want FSU. And a good FSU is bad for Florida.

I might be at Doak Campbell later as well. My daughter is going down for a dance clinic. I think it is the week of the Clemson game.
