My opinion is they oughta scrap conference title games if they’re going to 12 team playoffs.
Yes, but they’re making too much money on those for now. Too many people getting the profit that would complain. Schools getting the profits from their conference without having a team playing. Still that’s the most logical because you may have a couple teams having to play 3 times which is ridiculous.

Not sure. And not sure that should be considered for football tbh. Football to basketball is apples to broccoli...just too different to draw that correlation imo.
Yeah, it’s not like you won’t get cool moments, but there isn’t exactly a dearth of cool moments in the annals of college football history.

Yeah, I really don’t know what to think, but my instinct is to be excited. 98 is a good example where it could have hurt us, but think about the other years—97, 01, etc—where it could have benefitted us. Also, I was on the field after that game and I don’t think the playoffs will take away from the regular season as much as we may think. A rivalry is a rivalry and will always be full of passion.
I mean, will it ever get old beating Kentucky in basketball during the season?
Oh, yeah this format would have helped us a lot more than it hurt us, no question. It will help us more now too.

Because we don't have to win those big games or the conf. Just enough to get to 12.😉🍊

Man, I really hope we win next week! We are getting a lot of run with probably being 3rd best team in the conference and if we stumble the berating will be brutal.

I'm sure it's just BVS on my part but there's a voice deep down telling me not to fall for it, do not expect a victory on the road against a good solid team.

Someone please talk me off the edge..
Be careful who you listen to. . . some folks will talk you off the wrong side of the ledge, 😆

Good point. The only way we were playing for a national championship then was to go undefeated. If three teams had one loss, we would be left out every time.

The match up between Pitt and tennessee is completely different than either match up we saw from them last week.

So it'll be difficult take either game and definitively say this or that will happen one way or the other.

I think that benefits us more than Pitt because we do things differently than most teams.

Yeah, I am nervous that it could take away from what makes college football great, but at the same time I think we may be underestimating the inherent passion. I don’t see that changing. This will bring in more casual fans at the end of the season, but the majority of us will still sell our soul for a win and lose sleep and friends when we lose a regular season game.

On a neutral field we’d be 7.5 points favorites. Home we would be 10.5 favorites.
Recent research angles toward 2-2.5 pts each way (more specific than the old general rule of 3) of course it would be even cooler to see it by stadium.

Somewhat unrelated, but I was honestly surprised how raucous Pitt's crowd was. Will be interesting to see if they can get that up 2 straight weeks. Which is why a loss would have been big for us, I'm expecting we'll get another excited crowd. Not that it will shake any of our sec vets...

It was WVU and there were a lot of WVU fans there too.same colors so kinda hard to always tell lol

That won't be a problem next Saturday

It's never obvious with ND and OSU
Hate OSU.

Completely indifferent to ND. Hell I'd rather them win over the recent teams (clemson, osu, uga, bama).

Guess I don't get the shade at ND by some. My dad hated them...he had all these theories...then again he also thought catholics were "backwards people" 😅
